OD Thread - Season 22

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Los Galactico

5 of the 6 games between us have been won by the side chasing. He won the toss...

On a brighter note, we picked up 637k in gate receipts, meanign we very nearly sold out our 87500 stadium.

Los Galactico won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: cracked

Verma 6-0-26-1

Last Wicket: White c. Wilson b. Verma 31 (FOW: 103/2)

Bob's Buffoons v DIBS DIPPERS

Mrs BB up against fellow SZ Cupper BBB today.

Mutual TIE agreed between the 2 of them. Looking like a close game...

Bob's Buffoons won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: green/flat

Burns 4-1-11-0
Titterton* 48 (64 balls)
Arnold 10 (21 balls)

Last Wicket: Stride b. Bhutia 15 (FOW: 97/2)

Lortmill v Southend United

We can tell you that Lortmill won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloudy day.

Getting battered, they're into the tail.

End of Over 27: 113-6, runrate=4.19
Corry 4-1-20-1
Baxter* 13 (18 balls)
Tierney 4 (3 balls)
Last Wicket: Hulse c. Amstrong b. Ramachandra 8 (FOW: 101/6)

End of Over 33: 121-10, runrate=3.67
Mccoist 6-1-18-3
Baxter* 18 (36 balls)

away to a decent side. top order collapsed but were saved by trainee The Mack Lamacq

End of Over 50: 262-8, runrate=5.24
Vosloo 10-0-50-0
Lamacq* 105 (82 balls)
Fisher 23 (31 balls)
Last Wicket: Ohalloran b. Morbin 2 (FOW: 202/8)

at the age of 33, this is bowler Fisher's highest-ever batting OD score. His previous best was 12.

Allan strikes!

End of Over 16: 62-2, runrate=3.88, reqrunrate=5.91 (262-8)
Allan 3-1-5-2
Kampa* 44 (53 balls)
Hector 1 (11 balls)
Last Wicket: Sangha lbw b. Allan 0 (FOW: 58/2)

We upped the pace and are (hopefully) moving the RRR in the right direction.

End of Over 26: 116-1, runrate=4.46, reqrunrate=6.17 (263-4)
Crossley 3-0-15-1
Mawson* 69 (89 balls)
Hatch 11 (12 balls)

Last Wicket: Young c. Lamey b. Crossley 34 (FOW: 96/1)

Not quite gone to plan here - I batted the full 50 with old faithful Mckie hitting 73 no accompanied by batting trainee (though double wonderful) out for 75 in a big 5th wicket stand. On track to lose before all rounder comes on for last 3 overs.

Another £1m+ wagebill taken down hopefully, we're on a good run at the minute.

End of Over 42: 215-1, runrate=5.12, reqrunrate=4.00 (246-1)
Wallwork 9-0-42-0
Guneratne* 6 (7 balls)
Sinethemba 98 (125 balls)
Last Wicket: Cunningham c. Ratra b. Challinor 107 (FOW: 209/1)

Franchise lost by 4 runs after I rested some players thinking I was going to get tonked and he want and rested some too!

Worth noting that we sold out our 12k stadium already. May stick another expansion in.

Playing a team not played before. Doing OK so far. The rest yesterday helped

JLT Exeter
End of Over 19: 77-4, runrate=4.05
Fisher 5-0-36-0
Virk* 27 (38 balls)
Yates 8 (7 balls)
Last Wicket: Merry c. Mcandrew b. Allan 10 (FOW: 68/4

Theyre ranked 525 in England, 141 above me. Crazy.

Fisher erm redeems himself

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 38: 136-10, runrate=3.58
Fisher 8-0-55-1
Aujla* 22 (31 balls)

37.4 W Fisher to Mohau
That's a bad ball by Fisher, short and wide but Mohau has edged the cut into his own stumps.

And that's the end of the match. Southend United won by 10 wickets.
Surrey Sweepers 51-10
Southend United 52-0

End of Over 8: 52-0, runrate=6.50
Siyabulela 3-0-18-0
Marney* 30 (25 balls)
Ray 22 (19 balls)

Reasonably straightforward win for me, though needed an 88 run blast in the final 10 to give us something to defend. 4 wins and 2nd but can't see us catching the Knights. Had a nice win over Bob's Buffoons yesterday in the SZFL

Should be an easy win to keep my 100% record

End of Over 8: 48-0, runrate=6.00
Harper 4-0-27-0
Jefferson* 30 (31 balls)
Perry 17 (17 balls)

Playing Nadouessioux Akíchita, yet another £1m+ wagebill team. They have £300k of batsmen at the crease, we can't get them out but we're not getting tonked so we'll have something half decent to chase. Bowling conditions though so I can see their uber bowler rolling through us.

End of Over 27: 115-1, runrate=4.26
Graham 7-2-23-0
Gallage* 57 (87 balls)
Aslam 43 (68 balls)

Last Wicket: Nicholls b. Gulzar 9 (FOW: 10/1)

Chirk CC v Southend United

We can tell you that Southend United won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking like a road. As flat as a pancake. No help for the bowlers on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 28: 113-1, runrate=4.04
Round 9-0-48-0
Ray* 42 (80 balls)
Wright 54 (62 balls)
Last Wicket: Marney lbw b. Zammit 14 (FOW: 24/1)

Frustrating day, having failed to remove either of their monsters they clocked up 106 runs in the last ten to take the game out of reach. First defeat in a while.

Got 292 and won by 42 runs

Derwent Growl Napster's XI
Top Order: phenomenal miraculous
Middle Order: superb remarkable
Lower Order: abysmal woeful
Seam Bowling: sensational miraculous
Spin Bowling: elite elite
