Phil Brown

Not sure Oxford City players Harry Kyprianou, Dan Matsuzaka or Elliot Benyon will be too chuffed.... Phil Brown was manager when they were all released at Southend.

Oxford City have now short listed 4 candidates for second round interviews from the original list of 50. The Club have not confirmed whether PB is one of them.

Apparently PB was never interested in the job anyway. He is enjoying his retirement.....So far.

Ah, so he wasn’t shortlisted then.

I wonder if his pay-off requires him to mitigate his loss of earnings by applying for other managerial positions?

Our old friend Phil Brown is 1/3 favourite for the Barrow job following the sacking of Mark Cooper.
I remember him making a big fuss of travelling up to Barrow to watch them whereas he didn’t even bother to watch Col Ewe for our six pointer we had to win to stay up and they are right on our doorstep.

Would be interesting to see if he got the job whether he references having friends and family/a home in the area.

The betting market for a new lower-league manager is so small you could probably stick £20 on someone and they'd become the favourite for the job, I'd be amazed if Barrow were genuinely considering Brown.

How often does it happen that a manager can be sacked from a team in the relegation zone in a league below, then get a job at a team in the league above 6 points above relegation?
