Breaking News Players Fully Paid Up By Martin Dawn

Anybody think the way we are playing the players deserve their wages - I dont

No they don't deserve a penny. Too many times this season they've been disasterous. Wycombe/Tranmere/Exeter/Yeovil were worse than crap.

I'd also say they don't deserve the support from the fans. Both time-wise and money-wise.

I heard a rumour that none of the players wants to be playing here at the moment. I can't blame them for that, but i still expect them to play for a bit of pride. Not to just roll over and die, while hundreds of people spunk theur hard earned money following them around the country

We have a duty to support them that much is true

TBH mate that duty, is becomming more and more of a chore. Especially when we (as fans) do our bit, yet the players don't have the heart to fight for it on the pitch.

That is the most depressing thing about it. A number of this current squad couldn't care less what happens to SUFC.

95% of them I'd say and that no matter what the circumstances of recent events is just not good enough. I feel that %age also includes certain individuals a great many on here feel can do no wrong...

Another piece of brinkmanship from Chairman Ron, he has woven an intriguing web. Is it any wonder he wouldnt entertain the 'consortium' and has moved Heaven and Earth to wriggle out of administration.

If my maths is right, 95% is 1 in 20. So which player is the exception and who are those extra squad players to take us up to 20.....

No way, RM said no debts were owed other than HMRC.. so it must be true.

And if he was saving the money to pay the tax, why hasn't he done it already? Becasue, there isn't any other income bar Brentford before the hearing.

What if new debts arose between RM stating no debts were owed other than HMRC and now?

Do you not think it likely that a business has more outgoings other than just wages?

Well **** me.................

Players don't get paid = Your a **** Ron, liar, cheat scum etc etc etc infinitum.

The players get paid all monies due = Your a **** Ron, liar, cheat, scum etc etc etc infinitum.

Yes the ****ing horse has bolted. Yes they should have been ****ing paid on time. It has, they weren't but now there is no ****ing excuse for them to not go out there and give %110 commitment to beating Weeds and fighting for theirs, and our, League 1 survival.

Could it be possible that the money the club has used to pay the wages was always there, but being held in reserve should problems have arisen finding funds for HMRC.

With the news about Sainsbury's, and this arising at the same time, could it be that the potential deal has released funds earmarked for covering potential problems elsewhere?

Yes, it is wrong that the players weren't paid for so long, but what would many of you be saying had they been paid, and then other problems meant we couldn't pay HMRC? IF this money had been put aside to cover us against potential liquidation, then surely it's the right decision for the long term future of the club?

If not, then obviously Ron's a ****

This is a very good point. You go to football to support the team but you also do it as it's something you enjoy. I can't remember the last time I particularly enjoyed a game from start to finish. I couldn't make Walsall and even when we came back against Swindon there was 85 minutes of dire football preceding it.

I could enjoy myself for nothing at home watching porn or playing FM so shelling out a score to watch something which at times recently has been as enjoyable as watching someone's toenails grow suddenly doesn't become a top priority.

If true this is extremely positive news. Anyone with any common sense in business would not want to be seen making preferential payments to creditors whilst insolvent.
 RM must surely have something up his sleeve based on this - he might be a smarmy ****, but he's not stupid and wouldn't risk personal proceedings over this.

If true I am sure the players are relieved BUT if I was in their position I would still be worried about this months pay and the next and the next.....

Can't see it spurring them on to raise their game myself.

Well until it is officially confirmed this entire thread is a mute point and a waste of time, and I've just wasted my time commenting on it......er....yeah. I need to re-evaluate my life.

So you think we should all have kept quiet? Or is that a moot point...?

:thump:

But this won't be officially confirmed, and why should it be.

If RM comes out and says the players have been paid, then we know there has been problems with payment in the past and he gives what essentially is a rumour some credibility. If he says nothing then he doesn't give this rumour credibility.

By the way, i'm not suggesting that the players have been paid on time every month, far from it.

I too heard the same from the same source as Smudger who I can assure all is 100% chicken soup.

Good news I think as I cant see Ron putting money into payinfg the wages if he wasnt confident we could pay off the taxman. Who knows we might even get someone on loan now.
