Boxing Day
Yeovil face Cheltenham. Cheltenham who are on 32 points, will more than probably rocket into the promotion places if they win, however the likely result of another home win for Yeovil will leave them with 43 points and another step nearer their aim of automatic promotion.
Darlington face Rochdale. The suprise package of Rochdale are on 31 points and if they win could be hunting for a playoff place. Darlington though will be looking to boost their points tally to 36 points and then hope that higher teams drop points as they search for an automatic promotion place.
Promotion outsiders Lincoln and Boston face eachother in a local derby. On 31 and 32 points respectively they will both be looking to be in the top 7 places come may and three points would do both teams nicely.
The biggest promotion match of the day will be Southend and Wycombe.
28th December
Swansea face Boston United as Swansea look to extend their gap between the promotion and automatic promotion places. Boston will be hoping for a point due to Swansea's brilliant home record.
Wycombe find themselves in another promotion battle as they face high flying Macclesfield Town. It will come as a suprise to many that Macclesfield are as high as they are due to there poor attendances and the fact that the have been struggling for many years. However with only 1 place and no points between the two teams this game could prove to be a crunch match to get points on the board.
Cheltenham and Bristol Rovers face eachother and most of you will be asking what on earth this has to do wiht promotion as the sides in question sit 10th and 15th respectively. However Cheltenham are only two points off the playoff positions and Rovers only two further back so points at this stage of the season could prove to be crucial for both sides.
I hope you enjoy my guide to all promotion matches over Christmas and hopefully look forward to a New Year package soon.
