For gods sake. There's no pleasing some people. TBF to Ron, he prob has bigger things on his mind than posting his blog this week! Yet he still manages to get something to print. Did anyone think that we were going to get answers and hard facts this week?! I for one didn't expect anything actually. It was merely an introduction. Perhaps next week we will get something with more weight. Until then, stop criticising. I doubt many chairmen would ever bother with something like this! At least he cares about our opinions and views - good or bad - which is more than can be said for a massive percentage of chairmen in all 4 leagues.
I appreciate your point, maybe Tilson doesn't give a monkeys. I also think that overall RM has been a brilliant chairman. I just think that those examples give off the impression that he is one to meddle in team affairs. Regarding the email response to another fan about Foran, I appreciate his honesty but I am surprised that he discloses to a fan that it is all Tilson's decision and that he disagrees with it (as if this wouldn't be reported on a messageboard) At this moment in time, I'd expect the management team to pull together, not to break ranks so easily.
I didn't read it that way.
What he said was this -
"I, too, would like to see Richie Foran featuring in the First Team squad."
Wouldn't we all?
Then he said
"It is therefore of no benefit to see him sit on the sidelines but equally if he does not feature in the Manager’s plans that is where he will remain until his contract expires in the summer."
That's not breaking ranks... that's being supportive. It also doesn't infer that he disagrees with Tilly... it just makes the point that he would like to see a highly paid player feature in the squad.
Lots of waffle and no substance - telling us what we already know. Very much like his unwarranted 'outrage' at the Echo the other day on the website. I'll go with a couple of other posters here, I'm on the fence re RM - toppling the wrong way at the moment

Good on you Ron! Like others have said, he can't reveal everything and nor should we expect him to.
The fact he is trying to engage the fans is admirable in my opinion.
The fact is, we've never had it so good, and the first sign of a few blips and suddenly hes branded a villian.
Get real!
Eh?...how do you get to that assumption?

Has anyone asked themselves why is it that a Co-Owner of SZ is so very quick to [a] react to rebuke anyone who dares to criticise RM and seeks to put words into RM's mouth, or be his mouthpiece.
Surely he can and has stated he will answer for himself, so I must seriously question why Cricko should be apparently so touchy on this.
2 quick rebukes to the first two desenters, yet this is supposed to be a place where everyones views can be aired ? Problem is that when a co-owner does this [and their rights are acknowledged also] it must make some wary of daring to post anything remotely analytical of Mr Martin's comments.
John.. i really want to know this, are you in a relationship with Ron? It does seem odd, that whatever he says, you take as Gospel??
Cricko, the fact that after 10 minutes of the blog being on SZ nobody had even made a comment bar me, so don't give me that rubbish!!
I honestly thought the piece was unadulterated Bollocks (thanks James for letting us use that word). It told us absolutely nothing new. I have to admit that i wasn't expecting the full answers re Finances, Stadium, Transfers, Foran, Food Bar inadequacies etc in the first installment, however i also wasn't expecting him to insult our intelligence in saying that buying a forward should mean we will be able to hold the ball up better and therefore relieve our midfield and defence of pressure. Whilst i respect Ron for keeping in touch with the fans via these blogs, the occasional Q & A session and even personal replies to emails, i still do not feel the sun shines out of his @r$e. Cricko, the sooner you stop brown nosing Ron and realize that he has an agenda to make a lot of money for himself and is using the club as a vehicle for doing so, the better.
Everyone's entitled to an opinion, be they a co-owner or someone posting for the very first time. So Cricko backs Ron Martin. Big deal. I'm not entirely sure why that should be an issue.
If people want to criticise Ron Martin, then this is a perfect place to do so. Although if it is done incessantly it can get a little wearing....

Ian, you are one of my favourite posters on this site and I agree with a lot of what you say (I just never used to post) , and I think I understand your motives and the way you use logic.
Having said all that, this is the worst post I have ever read by you. His comments are completely understandable to me- and are fired off at posters who have given illogical 'lazy' comments. You used the word 'analytical' -- there was nothing analytical in their comments, in fact I don't see him having a go at anyone who has posted anything that had some thought put into it
sorry- thats how I see it, and I do try and be positive.
Sorry, maybe I did not make it clear. Will translate [as others have put it previously in relation to other posts by me]:-
I do not say I agree with the criticising post - rebuked by John, Co-Owner (Cricko) - I make no comment one way or the other, merely that the demeaning rebuke was OTT - wholly unecessary.
The concern is that The Co-Owner is showing signs of being RM's right arm man on SZ and hence the analagy and use of the word: "Mouthpiece" or if you like Co-Spin Doctor.

Didn't quite get that outrage myself, probably not helped by the fact I didn't read both articles in full, mainly due to the fact I couldn't see what the issue was. The Echo said the stadium was delayed, and RM seemed to agree that it had been delayed as well. Maybe the specifics were different but the fundamental issue is the stadium has been delayed.
Ron is a businessman. He should not be getting upset with mis-quoting, mis-interpretation of - or even the twisting of his words by the press, simply put; it goes with the territory.
What the press do, to make a headline, even though it may not have been newsworthy to us on here.
Some managers, chairman make, No Comment, others provide press releases or blogs of their own and insist their words be printed in entirety, without amendment, or not at all. Take your choice Ron, but no point becoming Irate.
