Indeed, its not like we're best in the world at much any more!!
I agree with YB's point tho.. maybe going part private for a start to see how it goes. I imagine there would be plenty of people who want to sponsor them!!
Also, i watched a doco last year, and the Red Arrows get thousands of requests a year by people who want to be taken up in one, and they reject evey single one, no matter how much money is offered... surely breaking this rule every so often could make them some £££.
