Due to last Saturday's game at Newport being called off due to a frozen pitch, we are not only unbeaten in 2021 but some of the tired legs will have had a chance to recuperate before our visitors from way up north make the 640 mile round trip to Roots Hall for the first time since October 1971. We managed to win that game 1-0 but have lost all the other five competitive matches against the Cumbrians.

Hopefully some of the walking wounded and COVID infected will be fit to return on Saturday, but one player not figuring will be young Kaz who has returned to Spurs following the completion of his loan - it's difficult to see how the value of Sterling will have risen during his time with us.

There are rumours of incoming players too, including a young 6'3" striker from Portsmouth who has recently been on loan at Bromley with our own Michael Klass. To me, Reeco Hackett-Fairchild sounds more like a firm of solicitors but I'll reserve judgement on his playing abilities until I've seen him turn out for us. There may be others joining too so I'll leave a few blanks in the team selection sheet. Who would you select to start the first home game of 2021 and what do you think the result will be?

The irony of our only victory in 1971/72 is that they played us off the park and we got a lucky 1-0 victory in a game we should have lost. At the end of the season Barrow finished 3rd from bottom 8 points above the bottom club Crewe. Two more points would have lifted them out of the bottom 4 . Barrow did not get re - elected and thus dropped into non league football and have only just got back.
Hopefully they don’t remember that they owe us “one”!

Barrow have had a couple of good results recently (including beating a team that currently sits 4th in the table 3-0) but this is still a must win for us, if we win then we're only a point behind Barrow, if we lose then they'll be 7 ahead of us.

Yes, a must win for us. Barrow have picked up two wins and a draw in their last three matches. Bearing in mind what Barrow is famous for they will certainly have better subs than us......

That is good ,but we mustn’t let them surface !????

Subs
K Taylor, Egbri, Acquah, White, Seaden, Howard, Walsh

I can see our midfield being a revolving door as Demi, Macca, K Taylor and Olayinki all need their workloads managed.

Not required: Halford, Goodship, Kyps, Klass, Phillips, R Taylor

Agree with that. Proper spine there with decent replacements.

Clifford still injured?

Like the starting eleven except we really cannot afford to leave out Kyle Taylor—so sure up the defence by switching Demi to RB.
Halford can play anywhere! So,other subs:
Seaden,Elvis,Egbri,Kyps,Goodship,Walsh.
