A bit of self-promotion but I'm looking for other stories as well. My day has involved conquering my mortal fear of heights by doing the Skywalk at Macao Tower (google it).

Started off badly when the daft bint I went with decided to tell me just when we'd handed over ferry tickets that she'd forgotten her passport. By a process of divine intervention we managed to jump in a taxi grab green lights all the way, get back to another ferry terminal and jump on a ferry with minutes to spare only 30 mins behind schedule. That in itself is a miracle as usually there's an hour wait for free ferry. Also no queue at Macau immigration. Made it to the tower bang on schedule whereupon I shat my pants again before getting in the lift.

Walking around an open platform with just a harness attached to a rail with the instructor getting us to do all sorts of things. Hanging off the edge, leaning back, sitting on the edge, running and then free riding with legs up. I spent the early part with mild Tourette's swearing like a trooper but the whole thing was awesome and I have a CD of pics to upload and post over the weekend. Sadly not in my new SUFC shirt but hey Ho. My legs were like jelly but rational thought, a confident instructor and the workmate got me through. They tried to persuade us to bungee (allegedly Guinnes BOR highest in world) but my bad neck disc excused me on genuine medical grounds.

Haven't really done it justice. Couldn't do Casino this time (done before) as needed to be back in HK but I will be having several beers tonight in celebration.

I'm sure other zoners can top it though Can't wait to see piccies. Expect the early ones to be me with a look of mortal fear on my face.

And the last one - though I have 38 pics on the disc is sitting over the edge. Notice how I'm not quite doing it, though I did get braver after the picture and looked straight down where the bungee jumpers go. All in all I guess around 20 minutes with fantastic views of the Pearl Delta and Macau and its surrounds. If it hadn't been hazy there's supposedly 40 mile views on hand. They also offered a 50% discount for coming back and doing the skywalk at night, finishing off with sitting over the edge for 20 minutes watching a firework display from a boat below. Sadly I needed to be back in HK however several Guinnesses last night and Christ alone knows what shots they were but the blow was well and truly softened. Beats going to a casino hands down.

Well done you! Never in a million years would I attempt that! The last 2 pics don't work for some reason though.

I once won the Victory Inn pub quiz with my brother and his mate. The money didn't divide exactly so my brother invested the remainder in a fruit machine and won £80 which was then also split three ways.
