Stan Collymore Statement.

I can't believe I am going to stick up for Ron here, but I am. He has no obligation to employ someone just because fans demand him too.

I have stayed away from commenting on these Stan blue love heart threads, because A) I never get ahead of myself with getting my hopes up. And B) Some of the bootlicking of Stan was just utterly cringy.

In my opinion, it is very easy to read Stan. He comes in and swaggers with his messiah complex and pseudo intellect. All this unfollowing fans on socials, up and down on wether to carry on with this, "I dont need to be chasing owners" but then does, is all just too predictable. This is a business, I don't want over emotional people such as Stan involved with big decisions despite the fact he has never worked in this capacity.

As for the conspiracy theories about this being PBs doing, that's just pure baseless conjecture. The proof will be in the pudding if and when we appoint a CEO, which will debunk the "PB did all this so no one works above him!!!!"

Despite the fact he has literally asked Ricky Duncan to be DOF and plans as far as I am aware are still to appoint a CEO. Which, Yep you guessed it, would mean someone working above PB.

Stop being massive reactionists and wait for the full story.

I think that is a bit harsh.

The lesson here is not to go public until something has been signed.

Stan has done his best so even though he could not agree with Ron .Or was it all Ron some how i feel phil had some say in this .When he stated he only answers to the chairman .Is sadly it is time to draw a line under this and move on to the next saga A CEO which the club really does need right now .

Don't be his little pet Scott - you don't need him - you need a united fanbase - you lot were doing that before he came along.

Focus on your contacts with Ron about what's happening with the club - fan engagement, CEO appointment, managerial support not what Stan may or may not do in the club (this is the second time he's cried off in a month FFS) - you don't need him - you need unity, a purpose and the courage of your convications
I am nobodies little pet mate, that should be clear to most who know me, anyway I take your point but the fight our end still goes on with or without Stan, but only a fool would ignore what he can potentially bring to the table

I haven't worked for talksport for 5 years.

5 LIVE for 13.

I met the Forest owner at his home to tell him on behalf of supporters groups that they wanted him out.

Within months he sold the club.

The vitriol towards me by a minority on this board is disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Conspiracy theories as to my involvement when I literally told everyone everything from day one is mean spirited and disrespectful.

Doing this for publicity? Is that some kind of joke? To date I've helped the Trust get £10k from £0k in 5 days and have sat a wonderfully exciting CEO in front on the club. Someone tell me where the ego or self publicity is in this? Anyone?

Some of the poison on this forum is beyond belief.

I'll say no more out of respect for those on here who have been engaging, respectful and took the time to watch every zoom call and read every post.

Are you not able to tell us why its all broken down now Stan? You had momentum it seemed, In the very least you had pressure on Ron to start to sort this mess out.

We understand that despite reaching an initial agreement on a role at Southend United late last week the offer was changed and Stan no longer wishes to engage as part of the process.

The Shrimpers Trust has had the pleasure of engaging with Stan over the past few weeks and was excited by his potential influence on and off the pitch. Since becoming involved this off season Stan has also helped raise over £10k for our Social Inclusivity project for which we are also most grateful.

We shall now await news from @sufcrootshall as to the appointment of a CEO which we believe is essential to the running of a sustainable football club.

There's a lot to unpack here.

Firstly, and I don't expect Stan to be back here to read any of this but I do think we should all be grateful that he stuck his nose in a month ago. I don't believe we'd have a manager appointed today, CEO interviews underway and some of the fund raising for the Trust and charities are directly the result of Stan's involvement.

Plus we got a couple of weeks of positivity and hope for the future in what should have been the most depressing few weeks of any of our time supporting this Club,

Stan had a major impact as a player in a short time and now he's had a major impact off the field as well.

I think ironically that that early appointment of a manager is what has undone Stan's direct involvement. It was pretty apparent from both Phil Brown's actions in offering Ricky Duncan the Director of Football role and his words in the Echo on Friday that there was a power-struggle already taking place and having Stan and Phil involved would have lasted until our first run of bad results IMO.

If we were going to put in place a radical new structure it probably needed to happen first and then you fill the various roles. We've done it back to front. Now you have Ron Martin, Stan Collymore, Phil Brown, Ricky Duncan and a new CEO all having to grab whatever responsibilities that they can and if that has left Stan with a role that he thinks is just a title and no room to make a difference then that seems a rational decision which shouldn't lead to him getting slagged off on here or social media.

I don't think Phil Brown has done anything wrong here either. He's done what most strong managers would do which is precisely why you put a structure in place first and then bring someone in who can work within it.

I think that is a bit harsh.

The lesson here is not to go public until something has been signed.

I do agree calling him an emotional character was too far.

But I am just so bored of this carry on. Just keep pressure on Ron to appoint a CEO and allow PB, Fagan and RD to do their jobs for preparing next season. Don't want too many cooks spoiling the broth.

Dear all.

On Thursday last I agreed with a handshake, roles and responsibilities to be Head of Football Operations at Southend United Football Club.

However due to an arbitrary change in those roles via an email to me on Sunday evening, I have notified Ron that I no longer wish to engage with him moving forward.

I hope the club employs a CEO in the coming days, that alone will be worth the last 3 weeks.

I wish you all the very best of success in the future, thank you for the kindness and support ?

Stay safe.

Stanley Victor Collymore
Sorry to hear this Stan. We can only guess what has gone on between Thursday and Sunday. Thank you for giving us hope after the last disastrous few years. If a CEO results in your welcome efforts, all will not be in vain.

As a fan base we need to continue the dialogue with Ron. Push for change yes but that’s regardless of whether Stan is here or not. Stan said from the start it needs to be us .. fans .. who fight for change - people took that as “Stan will do all the work for us and save us”. Stan has already started the ball rolling. Let’s continue the positive chats, the zoom calls, without sticking knives into SC, PB or Ron. In fighting and bitterness won’t get us anywhere. We all want a successful club we can be proud of. Let’s wait for facts before we start witch-hunting, eh? We could have a CEO and some real change before the week is out and if that’s Stan’s man and he’s successful then this will have been fruitful, no? If not, he’s at least got us thinking and got Ron thinking too.

If we start the NL season not ready after all this it’s ****ing criminal.
