Problem is we can’t get it in Blackpool.

That was Jimmy Savile's moniker for his mother.
On reflection and with the benefit of hindsight, maybe JS was the worst and most abominable 'thing' about BBC Radio.

Steve Lamacq (even thought he is Col U), Marc Riley and Gideon Coe on BBC6 are great. I actually don't mind Shaun Keavny although I can see he can be a bit irritating.
anybody remember Laser, pirate station in the 1980s? I remember Charlie Wolf - "The C Wolf" an American (I think they all were) he always started off by saying "sod off my good friends". Don't think he knew what it meant but made me laugh.
Caesar the Boogie Man was on Invicta back in the day. I also remember Timbo from Essex RadioThey must have been the same station as it was Laser 558.
Remember Caesar the Boogie Man?
Laser 558...used to plug me earphones in at bedtime and fall asleep to it
I miss Mark and Lard
How bout the people who knew exactly what was going on but allowed it to happen. People in enough power to stop it within an hour......The quicker the TV license fee goes the better. I guess they know more and more people are not paying it anyway.
Me too, they brightened up many a dark working afternoon back in the day.
This episode of their 'In Depth Reportage' segment is still one of the best things to happen on radio.
WARNING: Don't listen while eating or drinking

I was a big pirate radio fan back in the day (1964 -1967) and a few years ago the Caroline ship was docked at the end of Southend pier So along with my work mates from Royal Mail we decided to go on it. What a fantastic time we had, especially going into the record library amazing there was literally 1000's of albums in this room, a record collector's paradise. There was no restrictions and we were free to go anywhere on the ship which was great and there was always someone on hand to answer any questions. Back in the day on a Sunday evening Caroline had a religious programme which I think lasted about an hour??, as we were walking around one of the crew said to me that this is the studio that the programme came from, I fell about laughing as the room was only about 4ft. square. I am sure you will love it, remember it like it was yesterday:-"This is Radio Caroline on 199 your all day music station. Halcyon Days for sure.He doesn't ring a bell but I was more a Caroline fan anyway. Still listen to it now, especially when I'm working around Essex as it's a pretty good reception for AM. Going out to the Ross Revenge in May as well during broadcasting. Really looking forward to that.
Did he also present the sunday night 'love songs' prog between 10pm & midnight, or was that Lindsey King?.
Yep same here, Beat the Clock was one of my favourites.
Or Leigh on Sea!.
