As we've said earlier, none of them were born within 20 miles of Southend, which came as a surprise to me.

I know it's a bit late but in the late 70's early 80's there was a local band called "FUSION" they use to play at the Travellers Joy in Rayleigh and the group was a 4 piece band including Nik Kershaw,Ken Elson,Reg Webb & on drums was Alan Clarke he was from Southend I worked with him at a engraving firm in Westcliff in 1965 he was playing drums then part time and still is to this day and lives in Leigh and has his own website.(He use to live near Roots Hall Also although I think he was from London Robin Trower was living in Alexandra Road in Great Wakering when I was a lad about 1960.
