Transfer News, Gossip & Speculation Transfer Thread - Summer 2025 Edition.

Transfer news
Interesting point about overseas. Australia could be a good hunting ground. Spencer prior I think is still there. Wr have rees of course. There is some good talent there and it's not unusually for Aussies to move to the UK for a couple fo years !

Chris Haigh was mentioned here as a possible option, he’s joined Chelmsford. They seem to be going all in with the move to full time.

Looks like one of those dodgy transfer sites but Keenan being linked with multiple League One clubs.
probably complete toilet, but he's performed very well and we'd welcome the money. this is the sort of thing our club needs to be trying to do - buy cheap (or free) and sell on at a profit

I'd have Ryan Inniss back, that's for sure!
I watched his post-match interview last night and something about it made me wonder if that's a possibility. Think he's out of contract and would be a very good alternative if we can't/don't sign at least one of our two loanees at the back.

If we go up I really hope we at least size up getting Regan Linney in. Would be perfect for the way we play.

On the FGR zone a lot of fans angry Doidge, their leading scorer, played no part last night. Been benched a few times lately makes them wonder if all is well with him and his manager. If this is the case and he wants away could/would we go in for him or financially is he out of our league?

Based on the reported wage increase for Cards when he moved there I would imagine Doidge would be too costly for us.

I think Ben Goodliffe should be a priority signing. He has a played a key role in both the late surge towards the play-offs and during the two actual play-off eliminator victories, especially in the game against FGR. His commitment to the club does not seem to be in doubt.
Totally agree. I’d be over the moon with both Goodliffe and Golding, whatever league we end up in next season.

Seems Goodliffe will be back at Col Ewe next season , but one can hope ,Innis would be welcome but we still need a striker badly ,one that can hit the onion regularly, Thought Gubbins done well when he came on and took his penalty so calmly too.

I wouldn't be so sure.

He is really enjoying his time with the club. Obviously it might be hard to convince him to come to us in the national league. Getting promotion would help massively.

Golding also really likes the club but again much depends on Oxfords plans for him and his desire to play regular football. He isn't good enough right now for championship but see league 2 as where he wants to be.

My understanding is that we spoke to Oxford a few months ago as Golding was keen. To a certain extent it depended on Oxford staying up as there was less chance of them needing him if they did.

Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but Oxford did stay up...

I guess the issue isn't regarding their desire to play for us, but the fact they both require transfer fees.

With a sustainable budget, are we really going to pay a transfer fee for two CB's, leaving us with very little to spend elsewhere?
