Twitter

There is a wine producer in the States with the same name as my wife, for some reason she is following me

I am trying to get my brother, the one with the same name as a famous actor, to go on twitter, as I reckon the confusion would be amusing

I hold on to all of mine like grim death. Particularly the porn stars, although there haven't been so many of them lately.

Haha. I used to get 2 pornstars a day, but not anymore.

Funnily enough, my last message from anyone was from Blair Sturrock, who insisted he hasn't retired.

:hilarious:

I follow Russell Crowe. He's a nutcase.

Hahaha. Was it about Lost?

hahaha no it wasn't. It was for a bet over who could get the most celebrity interactions in a week long period from a standing start. I won, largely thanks to Mr Eko's following of the account.

A mate and I have a running battle to see who can get re-tweeted to most people. I was in the lead with one from the official feed of the Milwaukee Bucks (70,000-odd) but he blew me out of the water with some US actor who had over 120,000. Damn him.

I got RTed by Marcus Brigstocke. Followers: 129,000.

:winking:

I'm followed by Five Finger Death Punch (Metal band), but to be fair they follow a lot of their fans, plus boxer Billy Morgan, again he's good at following back fans and isn't particularly big in the boxing world. I was also followed by Paul Merson for a while, but I think he deleted his account.

Weirdest...because of my handle I get loads of Star Wars followers, although they seemed to have dropped off a bit now, some of those were pretty weird. Plus Cricko - simply because I can't imagine someone of his age using anything more technologically advanved than an abacus #ancient

@obiweskenobi for those that don't already follow.

I'm @jonny_power

I got RT'd by some of the b3ta people who have big numbers of followers - and had some chats with Ben Goldacre.

Also I haven't yet been blocked by Glinner, which is a miracle.

Oh and Frankie Boyle (1m followers), for Hip Hop Thursday, for an EPMD tune. That got me a dozen new followers as well.

It depresses me that he has over 1m followers and the immeasurably funnier Danny Baker - @prdonose - only has 170k.

Fair play on the RT all the same.

No biggy - i have inboxed message with alison hammond (Big Bro and now This Morning) as well as Julian Dicks and golfer Oliver Fisher I think or it might be another Oli on the circuit who all followed to message.

I have had responses from Joey Barton, Matt Taylor, David Gold, Katie Price, and countless cricket pro's. A few other celebs but I honestly don't remember. No real big deal in my opinion but is quite a fun medium to wind celebs up.

so who's everyone's a) most famous follower and b) weirdest follower?

My most famous is Candy Dulfer
Weirdest is Watermill Beefeater

@matthewevans43

Followed you Dave.

My most famous follower = Larissa Sturgeon
Wierdest = someone (or something) called BillionDollar-ID. Hmmmm, I wonder if they want to buy a football club.....

Danny Baker and our very own Slipperduke are, for my money, the two funniest people on twitter.

I do follow Frankie Boyle and can't say I never laugh at his stuff but it's all easy shock humour. There's no genuine wit there.

Twitter seems to have been invented for Slipperduke, he's fantastic on it.

Julian Dicks responds quite a lot. I had a chat with him about McNasty, who used to hang about with him.
