We all want what's best for southend?

Just read all the posts on this thread. It is obvious that although we all have various opinions we all want what is best for the club. As many people have alluded to on here, RM is basically skint. His companies/businesses are constantly fighting off court procedures. Like all struggling businesses, people like the VAT man are often paid late. It is tempting to use the VAT cash raised to help your cash flow. Also his factoring activities (Charterhouse) is another typical example of a struggling and under-capitalized business. When he had to go cap in hand to the Trust for £60k just about sums it all up.
What worries me most is not Rons plans, but that he has empty pockets and a dodgy credit rating. If he can pull some money out of a hat then great, but he seems like someone playing a game of monopoly but has just had to mortgage all his properties because his throw of the dice landed on the wrong space.
Football is full of clubs run by basically just one person and his company but at least some can write a cheque that doesnt bounce.
What keeps my hopes up is the fact that we have a consortium of people seemingly interested in taking over and have some money in their pockets. Elstree Blues posts give a reasonable account about them. Obviously they cannot show their hand too openly at present but it is comforting to know that at least someone is waiting in the wings. I really cannot see anything but ducking and diving financially with Martiin running the show, he just hasn't got the financial clout.

Also, why are there charges from Deloittes as well ? SUFC do not own this development - or indeed the responsibility to build it.. unless some can put me right?

The accounts to 31/7/08 do indeed show administration expenses of 2M (2006-2007 show 1.5M) and there are many around the 1-1.5M mark in the past 15 years so i don't think that tis 2M relates to the new development, I think it is expenses for the administration of the football club,

As for the Deloittes charge, to be honest know very little about this charge, its not shown seperately in any accounts and I have not seen anything which positively identifies what the charge is for or in fact who it has been charged by.
Could you send me a copy of what you have, or post a link. so I can make my own mind up.
