WELL DONE RON, NEARLY ALL IS FORGIVEN!

I'm fully awake, what I'd like to hear is what you propose as an alternative to the present situation. It's certain that if everyone adopted your approach the club would die. If you're proposing a 'phoenix' club starting again from scratch, I can only assume you're much younger than I and have the advantage over me of being able to wait eight or ten years for us to again attain league status. Whilst I respect your opinion, Southend United will ALWAYS be my team, whoever owns or manages them.

Thanks. I have many suggestions.Nobody listens.I do not propose a Phoenix Southend.
Be careful with your assumptions. My choice is my choice, as is your own and I seek no beef with any fan!

Hi, Rootshall Rambler, I agree with the points you have made, and I am as upset as you are, we are noW non league , no more needs to be added!.
The problem is we cannot get rid of Ron. He is to far down the route of trying to make his fortune with FF being his Golden Goose.
We are were we are and we have to get on with it. For me though, I think Ron has seen the light (albeit too late) and to me he does seem to be putting it right now also nice and early, which has been our problem the last two seasons. Ron needs to get us back into the league for his own plans to succeed.:Dizzy:

fair points, of course you’re right.... but at the moment ...it’s still too painful and raw. I’m so angry with his useless cynical incompetence.

Ronnie Martin...the man who destroyed the club that I’ve loved for 50+ years ........ but still people seem to support him ??....... are members of his family on here posing as ordinary fans ??

What a stupid thread this is..... so ron appoints ceo and just like that he becomes the messiah. Come on get real! Ron got to do lot more to get my forgiveness.
Hi sufc4life21
Thanks for your honest opinion! What this forum is all about.
I don,t think Ron is a Messiah, the jury is still out for me on that one.
Ron holds all the Aces and has done for many years now.
Agree the last 3 years have been diabolical.
I think Relegation has been a real Wake up call to Ron, he never thought it would happen IMO. With FF His Golden Goose, he has got to do something to reap his fortune.
Getting on with, getting ready for a return to EFL very quickly now is of the utmost importance. My point is that we seem to be doing things more positively than the last two pre seasons.
If Ron has seen the light and funds us properly getting a new CEO and Phill Brown back now to prepare properly is a step in the right direction. IF This is the case, nearly all could be forgiven, this is conditional to us getting immediate return to the EFL. COYB UTB ? ?:LoyalSupporter:

We haven’t got a choice, RM holds all the aces, and has done for years now. I would like to get rid of him, we can’t!
Like you I love SUFC and have supported them for many years , if he has seen the light and is doing something about it, I prefer this option tHan folding completely. I am a forgiving person. Make Love Not War! COYB, UTB

I call it how I see it, like any fan who not shy to voice their opinion. Not knocking you their as your entitled to voice your own opinion :Thumbs up:

I do see where your coming from interms of preparation for this season...... with the management team in place and CEO, which looks decent appointment. We're looking to sign players early which is also good sign. But at the same time it's all basic stuff a football club should do!

Me personally it will take time for ron to get my forgiveness. The damage that Ron has done I just can't forgive!

If we somehow get back to the EFL at the first attempt then non league tour doesn't seem so bad after all.

As fans we all got different opinions but we share 1 goal is we want sufc to do well and win.

Luton and Lincoln showed that it’s a wake up call that can lead to a positive outcome. Both clubs had great support in NL and I think if we can get behind the team it can have a great impact. We are going to see a few new grounds - hopefully just the once!

Indeed that happened in both cases, but it took Luton 5 seasons & Lincoln 6 seasons before they regained their league status.
If it took us that long, only positive would be by then, hopefully the 4th stand would have been built at Fossetts!!

I agree, both of those club have come back bigger and better..... though it did take them a number of years to come back. Iv noticed we are doing are business early, which is good sign.
If we get the majority of are business done before a ball kicked, then that will give us half chance of having good season.

Iv got more hope with Brown than MM.

On balance, if there was a choice, then no.But we understand its not that simple.
We will end up with a Kassam type monolith, out of town, insufficient transport links, soul less and rubbish.
All of those things may or may not be possibilities. One thing is certain, the West Stand roof is at the end of a very long life and there is a real risk that it will fail a Health and Safety tour. As for the East Stand, I would imagine that some of that is at risk as well. So for the safety and comfort of the die hard supporters Fossetts Farm is really the only way forward now.

What would you do different then?

East stand should of been knocked down years ago..... God knows how it passes health and safety.

I must admit i thought FF was too far out but i went to Brighton races monday and passed Brightons stadium on the way, it looks a fantastic place but bloody hell it's miles from anywhere,no shops, pubs or takaways,it's just off the A27 but it seems to be in the middle of a big field,at least we will have all those things around still within walking distance.
PS looked liked no outside parking either, getting away after a game must be a nightmare.

Most away fans get a train to nearby Lewes (good place to have a pub crawl) and get a train one stop back.

I'm not a great go for walks bloke, but I wouldn't mind betting that if you start off from Prittlewell Station and do a step count there wouldn't be a huge difference in distance to the new ground via Jones Memorial park (included in the FF plans) and a walk at present to Roots Hall. It might be a little longer but no worse than some we have trudged to for away games. I also expect that the Club will lay on shuttle buses to the new ground as well (optimistic dreaming!).

So Ron is a bad boy Yes .But even bad boys can get another chance OK so everyone says he is in it for the money .Show me a chairman that is not i you will see a man who does not tell the truth .Nearly every chairman owner who plants countless pounds in a football club sooner or later will want a return for the investment .
