Who should replace bond?

Who should replace Kevin Bond

The last thing Ron could have expected was to have to receive Bond's immediate resignation on his return. I would rather muddle on for a short while, to ensure the right appointment is made.

Whoever gets the job has his hands tied until January, so could be a long 3 months until then.

Ryan Leonard hasn't been replaced, our one box to box midfielder has been sold and not replaced. We have no physical presence up front until Hopper returns. No wingers and no style of play that suits the current playing staff. when you think about it the list is probably endless.

We all need to be patient.
I really do doubt Kevin Bond resigned out of the blue.
1. He said 3 days earlier he wouldn’t
2. Giving up all that cash.

I think it’s much more likely Ron’s sacked him and they’ve come to an agreement financially and part of that agreement was us saying that he resigned to allow him to leave with some dignity after presenting us with our worst ever start to a season.

If we get Ainsworth, I would be over the moon. Would be surprised though. You’d think that with the job he has done for many years at Wycombe, that he’d be waiting for a bigger club than us to test himself. Not that we aren’t a massive club of course! ?

Football is a strange game sometimes. Wycombe have new owners, he's been there a long time, maybe things have changed for him. He's been heavily linked with the Lincoln job. But I would still be absolutely stunned if he came here, it defies all logic.

I wonder who Ron has up his sleeve. Wouldn’t surprise me if he totally blindsided us again as per KB. Funny how it now looks not to be Adam Barrett and talk is moving away from that possibility. Expect Barrett to be appointed soon!

Where are you seeing talk of that?

Waddock has said he had a very positive chat with RM so expect Waddock to be given a chance at the moment as it looks if RM is in no rush to get a permanent manager in at the moment, could be a long wait.

Waddock would clearly be a continuation of the Bond era. Why on earth would we want to take that path?

On the other hand, I am fully prepared for Waddock to be announced.

Possibly because with FF being further delayed we can't afford to top up the £17m of debt in case we end up like Bury.

After all it was all Bonds fault so whoever comes in, they only need to cuddle the players, let them play where they like and don't expect them to pass or work off the ball.

Oh and some passion on the touchline wouldn't go a miss Never mind our poor results at RH......I beginning to think a fourth official will never speak to one of our managers again.......I just can't see where then next sent to the stand is coming from....At the very least I expect a word in the managers ear about his conduct

I would prefer to have someone with more managerial experience, like Parkinson, Ainsworth (if he is actually an option), or Rowett. But given the way the bookies are swaying, and the signals from the club, I think Adam Barrett would be the preferable candidate assuming the alternative is along the lines of Waddock or Milligan

Phil Parkinson is not interested in coming to Southend. Gareth Ainsworth would be a great choice, seems such a good bloke and a real motivator of men. Rowett? Nah.
