I'm actually not convinced this is such a bad thing. They get competitive games. We get a few bigger games, more revenue, and some more teams to collectively abuse and giant kill - could be fun. I'm not sure we have much to fear from this, but there need to be robust measures in place to stop big teams 'buying' the lower leagues. It happens elsewhere in europe and the reserve sides don't always dominate. Don't reject something just because it's new.
How can we 'collectively abuse' teams that won't have any fans?

And maybe some of these under 21 Prem Clubs could play special "away" home games for their remote fans to get to see them, as in Manure play a " home" game at Walsall's ground for their Brum fans. Liverpool could stage an U21 game in Dublin etc.

This is never going to happen and is a waste of news. Greg Dick and his cronies have absolute no power it's absolute ********!

******. Ron - please publicly say no to league 3!!!!!

Worst idea ever... If clubs want their younger players to get first team experience, send them out on loan!!!

The problem is their is so much pressure on managers these days to succeed that they will not give youth a chance (although that is doing a disservice to the likes of Martinez and Pochettino).

Look at Man City, they are spending fortunes on their academy and how many players have come through exactly? John Guidetti (admittedly not English) scored 20 goals in 23 games on loan at Feyenoord 2011-12 season and not only has he yet to make an appearance for Man City, but he went out on loan to Stoke and only made 6 sub appearances! Are the commission therefore saying that the Dutch league is not competetive?

Here is something for the commission to do. How about they actually go and visit one of the most successful academies of the last 10 years and find out what they are doing. Because despite visiting Chelsea who have produced 1 England international in that time and Fulham, who I doubt have even done that, they have yet to visit Southampton who have produced the likes of Walcott, Shaw, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana and have Ward-Prowse, Chambers and Gallagher coming through, oh and that other one they produced, who I think may now be the World's most expensive footballer (I know he is Welsh)!

That is what they need to do with their time rather than coming up with farcical ideas.

as a club with no reserve side it's hard for us to get too sanctimonious about this. And many of us have had a moan about the current loan system when it's worked against us.
however, this proposal does not work in this country. we have 5 pro divisions (the conference is mostly pro now) with a wide geographical spread. i'd rather see the JPT and League Cup combined into a competition where L1/L2 clubs field anyone and Prem/Champ can only field u23 players. play in regional mini leagues with a single-tie quarter/semi/final...

Dyke's argument on Five Live earlier (not saying I agree) is that the B teams aren't, generally speaking, the best in the Spanish lower leagues, so there is no reason to assume it would be the same in England. Quick list of where the best B teams currently are in Spain (note that the third tier is comprised of four regional divisions):

Barcelona B - 3rd in 2nd tier
Real Madrid Castilla - 20th in 2nd tier
Las Palmas Atl - 3rd in 3rd tier
Bilbao Athletic - 4th in 3rd tier
Elche Ilicitano - 5th in 3rd tier
Granada B - 7th in 3rd tier
Espanyol B - 8th in 3rd tier
Real Madrid C - 9th in 3rd tier
Sporting Gijón B - 9th in 3rd tier
Villarreal B - 11th in 3rd tier
Córdoba B - 11th in 3rd tier
Real Sociedad B - 12th in 3rd tier
Almería B - 13th in 3rd tier
Sevilla B - 15th in 3rd tier
Atlético Madrid B - 16th in 3rd tier
Valencia Mestalla - 16th in 3rd tier
Celta Vigo B - 18th in 3rd tier
Levante B - 19th in 3rd tier

Thing is only Barcelona and Real Madrid are rich in La Liga, and Real Madrid prefer to buy superstars than make them, in England there are 5 or 6 teams that loan kids to lower half premier league sides, they would dominate league 1 (Dyke's proposal does not permit B teams to enter the Championship).

Sooooo where do the away games take place? Emirates? Stamford Bridge? More likely on the training ground with no atmosphere.

Just kill the football league in search of false english talent.

Dyke you are a ****

If this proposal was passed, i can see at minimum 60 league clubs plus clubs from conference downwards splitting from the FA and forming new English football leagues, and should this happen , im also sure it will be better run and eventually prove a better product.Revolution my dear friends is whats needed in the football world.

Is there ONE real fan of a lower league club on that panel. they might be pros, ex pros, owners, business people BUT they have no idea what a proper fan is like for a lower league, non glory, local fanatic.
Similar to career politicos not understanding the life's of average working folk.
If they could have had Nicky Butt on there then he knows the trials of lower league stuff.

Just read that Accrington Stanley have announced that if the plans go ahead they intend to run a B team and apply for it to play in the Premier League! Brilliant, got to love The Accies!

You'd think that Dyke chap would realise that this crazy plan could ruin his beloved Brentford wouldn't you? Just because they are now a Championship side I doubt they will stay there.

The problem with football in this country is that the kids who have the natural talent often as adults drift away from playing the game and follow a career elsewhere. We need the structure of the game changed to ensure such people stay in the game. Perhaps conference clubs and clubs like ours should scout college games and county games and accommodate part time players?

Shaun Goater & John Barnes on BBC breakfast: Man City's "B" team will be full of non-English players, so Mr. Dyke, tell me how that will help the national game you clueless ****?

The report focuses on a single objective - improving the performance of the England (senior mens) team.

That's fine, and I think we'd all like to see that. .

But do we want to see another 200 or 300 mediocre English players come through? Surely the aim is to get 20 or 30 really top players. Look at emerging youngsters - Walcott, Willshere, Barclay, Townsend, Sterling - these are really good players and have come through the system despite the influx of foreigners, so for me, swamping the Perm with more English players will not improve the national team.

Dyke pointed out that when the Premier league started in 93, over 70% of players were English. He didn't point out that we failed to qualify for the 94 World Cup. Coincidence?

If Dyke googles his own name he will quickly find out what real fans think of his plan. Unfortunately he probably stopped doing that a long time ago after being asked why he was always looking at lesbian porn.

Reading the Metro and Dyke says he has the support of some of the bigger clubs. Well no **** sherlock, they have nothing to lose.

Please go and ask a few league Two and Conference sides how they feel about it.

No journalist Ive heard or read yet has a good word to say about this, what was this commission thinking ?

The England team is important, but its not more important than all of the clubs in the country and the integrity of our leagues shouldn't be sacrificed just in case this helps the England team.

What was hilarious was hearing one of the ideas raised in the process, which was rejected, was to allow the England U21's to play in the Championship. Ok fair enough it was rejected but who even thought there was value in that ? Did that suggestion come just after someone shouted "Monkey Tennis?".

Not sure if this has been posted or not, seems to me that the more who sign and share the petition, the more chance there is that we, the fans (particularly of lower league sides) might be listened to:

http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitio...tm_medium=email&utm_source=signature_receipt#

Signed it yesterday, 17,000 signatures now!

Reading the comments and some people dont seem to get it
I can not, and will not agree with this needless shake up of a very well established league system just to increase the profits and fortunes of the "big" clubs.

It has nothing to do with helping big clubs, its about helping the England team, which I would suggest most fans put secondary to their own club.
