Mr. Benedict
The Devious Badger
It's hardly new! We'll be in the old wooden main stand.
Still, it's better than that open terrace that we used to get every year! :p

Not that anyone will be interested but I think my first FA Cup game was played on a Sturday night in either the 1st or 2nd round against Dover Athletic. 4-0 or 4-1 I think, Ken Foggo amongst the scorers in either the 74/75 or 75/76 Cup..
I remember that game it was 4-1. We then beat Brighton 2-1 at home in the 3rd round, Cardiff 2-1 at home in the 4th round, with peter Sylvester scoring the winner in the last minute, and then in the 5th round 5,000 Blues fans converged on first division (premiership of those days) Derby where we lost 1-0. That was the same season we were relegated from the old 3rd division and Arthur Rowley got the sack.
Me too, especially if it was an midweek evening kickoffI loved that open terrace :D

Was at all of those home games, but IIRC it was Stuart Parker that got that last minute winner against Cardiff. I was in the South Bank aged 9, and got spat at by a group of Cardiff fans for celebrating.
I was actually wrong in that it was Boreham Wood at home in a 3-0 win the previous season which was my opening FA Cup game.
I watched us beat Dagenham in the F.A.cup 2nd round at Roots Hall in 1969 (i think). We won 1-0 and the crowd was over 10,000. If any of these details are incorrect then i'm sure canvey shrimper will put me right.
Tsk, you can remember all that, but couldn't remember us playing in the classic Admiral kit of the mid 70s :thump: :D :p
Would've definately like to have seen Scannel against the Daggers but i think hes cup tied because he's played some cup qualifiers for Eastliegh.
Yes, he's cup-tied!
I really would love to know why he wasn't even on the bench on Tuesday, surely even 10 minutes when we were chasing the game would have made the gamble worthwhile?
He couldnt have done any worse than the others who took the pitch. I was disappointed he didnt come on/make the bench/whatever aswell for what its worth.
Wasn't surprised at his absence as he probably hadn't trained with the team yet. Hopefully he might make the bench for the Yeovil game.
True but then the way we were playing that didnt seem like something the others had done either...:p
