Our Match for James squad for Sun 28 May at Bowers & Pitsea (KO 3pm) is nearly complete with Nicky Bailey & Paul Byrne (yes, really!) being the latest additions. Weather set to be fine (touchwood), it will be a memorable & emotional afternoon - please be there! You can pay on the gate, £5 adults, £2 U16's

Is Paul Byrne confirmed after earlier in the season?

He asked Tilly if he could play, he has told Tilly he has booked his flight and hotel and says 100% he will be there, and Tilly knows of his previous no-shows so has suitably underlined to him that he needs to be there this time. So, he's confirmed (and he's been in touch with Tilly again this past week too about it) ...... but he was confirmed last time!

I used to work in finance (until I saw the light), so I know how to write a caveat!

Yes, good point, we are dreading folk turning up at Roots Hall!

Parking is at the ground. You might find a friendly Shrimper fan steward or two directing you.

We expect the players to start arriving around 2pm so that might be a good time.

Damian hopes to arrive to complete his ultra marathon around then too but that depends on the slowest runner in the group as they all like to arrive together

Quite a nice little collection we think, all kindly donated by very good folk (and three of them donated by the wonderful Luke Purcell). No left over scented candles from Christmas 2004 on offer here.

Raffle tickets only sold at the ground on Sunday, draw after the match in the main bar, winning ticket holder chooses which item they want from the prize pool and then second winner chooses from what is left and so on until the prizes run out.

Tickets £1 each or buy 10 for £10 and get 10 free. Friendly Shrimpers Trust raffle ticket sellers will find you if you are there on Sunday. Buy as many as you like. 100% of proceeds go to help James.
