Anybody else feel overly festive..........

Well in that case are you gonna get me what I pointed out to you the other day?? $807,000 wasn't it? That should work out for me!

when I said buy me something expensive I meant that to actually mean just me and I dont apply the phrase to anybody else!!

Ok then fair enough...

Yeah I haven't actually got it...

Do you like Christmas time James? Or are you a Scrooge/Grinch?

TBH a bit scrooge like at times but more because of all the commercialism. i really enjoy the being around your nearest and dearest for a few days and do look forward to it. just cant be doing with all the shopping and crap that goes with it!

See I think that's the reason most people feel a bit scrooge-like at times, the comercialism of it all. But they're the ones who get sucked into it and think that's all Christmas is about. I agree it's comercailised and all that jazz, but I remember the other stuff that goes with it.

all that jazz!! how old are you??

Ah....so this has evolved into the annual Bah Humbugs vs Christmas Lovers debate we have every year on SZ! How many years is it we've been doing this for now?

As someone who's been firmly in the Scrooge camp in past years I have to say I still am very anti much of the commercialism of this time of year. However having kids now and in particular my eldest who is, as I said before, really getting excited about it all I think I will enjoy it more this year.

I suppose it's about seeing it through kids eyes, how you used to feel about Christmas before getting old and cynical. To my daughter just turning on the Christmas tree lights yesterday evening was a thing of wonder so by the time we get to Christmas Eve she'll be bouncing off the walls. To see your children that happy and excited can't be anything other than a wonderful thing.

Oh, and before certain SZ posters with long memories say I told you so - yes, that was what you told me years back. You were right.

It feels a lot more festive this morning, this was the view out of my kitchen window this morning
