Considering our style of play, we should be looking for a couple of bruisers in central midfield and a tall strong bloke up front to hold it up and ruffle some feathers like steve howard who's been released by leicester.

Steve Howard's a good shout, always liked him and I'm sure Sturrock would. Depends on what happens with Corr though as they're two similar players. I think we're in need of a pacey forward more than a big targetman at the moment.

Would love this, would fit in a Sturrock team IMO, we could lump the ball into the corners and he'd beat the full back to it 9 times out of 10. Can't see him dropping to league 2 though.

He would beat the full back 9 or 10 times then do nothing with it you mean ? :)

Dont know if he has improved his end product since he left us but he always looked good but didnt really deliver anything.

I'd agree that his final ball was often not to the required standard but he got himself into positions where he could put a ball in so often that he could muck up 50% of the time and still deliver more than most. He has played in the championship for a good few seasons so you can't dispute his quality. He also offered a great outlet to give the defenders respite when we were up against it. There were times against Crewe when the ball was just coming back again and again. Having a JCR allows us to put it into the corner and regain possession, win a corner or a throw. JCR offers a lot, I always thought this in his time here.
