Read on teletext that he wants to become Stockport manager.

I cant remember how, where, when i heard this maybe it was a couple of years ago, but the last i heard the mighty Brett was shelf filling in a Northampton supermarket

No surely this can't be true. The man that helped us through the Divisions the first time and then scored the winner in a top night v the Hamsters.

He's currently coaching in the States.  He simply took a supervisory job, at a store local to him, as a bit of pin money to take after his last coaching job in the UK finished.

God thats depressing.

One of our most legendary players resorting to supermarket work, even if it was "supervisory"

Lets hope he makes a career in coaching as he was a great player.

Come back Brettie my son! Would be good to have a job at Southend, helpin out doing something or other (obviously finances permitting).

I noticed earlier today that due to a reshuffle at Portsmouth, Brett Angell has left his job as reserve/youth team coach.  I would love it if he came back to Southend in a similar capacity.  I'm sure he could do a great job for us (again).

Thoughts?

Brett Angell = LEGEND

We've already got a youth-team manager in Ricky Duncan, so probably not. Shame for Brett, but I'm sure he'll find employment somewhere.

Would be very happy to welcome him back in some form of coaching capacity, although if as we all expect the budgets are to be tight for next season & it was his wages or a championship standard striker or defender then I know which I'd have to go for.
