Emmanuel Osadebe and Theo Vassell unable to be registered due to EFL Embargo?

5 points from 4 games - a substantial improvement in results.

And he's done this with a dramatically reduced wage bill and whilst blooding youngsters.

Well done Sol.

I think the suggestion was that he signed it as he's tone deaf.

Last 6.

2 wins
2 draws
2 defeats

The sort of form that would see us easily safe over a season.

Even given the ineptitude of the EFL it surely would be a step too far even for them to allow 2 players to cancel their contracts with one club for not being paid and then actively deny their registration with their new club as free agents- leaving them in limbo and, yes, potentially unpaid- hence causing the very thing they claim to wanting to prevent?

I could understand re. transfers but free agents in this scenario...lunacy. Logic surely says this cannot be the reason as even the EFL can't be that perverse..

No point comparing what went on at Bolton as the EFL apply different rules for "bigger" clubs.

But In the EFL's eyes the released players don't have to join a club with an embargo do they, in fact they would probably advise them, given their recent payment issues, to find employment with a club that will pay them on time

Sadly you are probably right- the EFL will be completely oblivious to the number of players out there who are free agents and can't find a club and are being paid by nobody at all...they probably fantasise that every player who wants a professional contract can get one.

Perhaps the EFL are just wanting to make sure that what Ron claims is no issue, paying the players on time, actually isn’t an issue and they are waiting to see if everyone gets paid this month! Now when next payday?

Been and gone at the end of Jan (it was the Dec payroll where some weren't paid)..but could be they want to see this month as well..and the next...they make it up as they go along so you could be right. Little comfort to the two players concerned. But this all assumes some sort of EFL restriction is the issue.

Because a club at fault can be put under restrictions regarding size of squad and salaries, but these can be lifted at the discretion of the EFL. Ron Martin is in talks with the EFL, reportedly even taking someone from accounts with him.
Lets hope he takes ned from the sports science dept. That should seal the deal

is it not perfectly possible that both players have signed contracts. As I understand it the embargo is on the registration, not signing ( and therefore paying) the players.
Isn’t that what happened with a lot of sturrocks players?

I think it’s possible yeah. Possibly Ted Smith too as it’s all gone quiet about him too, which if he was off to Spurs it would probably have happened by now.

Definitely, BBC Essex anchor on the match programme tonight said he didn't think we were, when reading a text out from ShrimperJim, I think, pre-match but then qualified it by saying it was pointed out to him that we could well be, as the EFL rules were set out to him yesterday......So BBC Essex asked the EFL ,who wouldn't comment as it could be "commercially damaging to the club", what a joke that is!! The only thing that is commercially damaging to this club is Ron Martin, who it was said would only comment in his on good time, so it has to be assumed we aren't under an embargo........

Classic playing it safe and I get that from the BBC, I tend to lean the other way and think everything in the current position points to us being under the embargo, as the rules were pointed out on another thread on here, that would also cover the signing of unregistered players being barred too, hence the delay/postponement of the two Macc Lads signing on.

Can see a Ron statement in the next few days blaming the EFL for all these issues

He won't, he'll just stay aquietand then BAM

Attempt at distraction with some faux stadium news

And some people still believe the bull**** from Ron that he's 'personally pumping millions into the club.' ? Where's the Yearwood Money Gone? The Hopper Money? The Bishop Money? Saving on wages for Cox, Kiernan, Ridgewell etc? It's clear as night follows day that 1. There is no money 2. We are on EFL embargo 3. We will probably be deducted points very soon (Ron is probably hoping it will be this season, the EFL will probably want us to start off next season with a minus). The whole thing is a mess and it's all at the feet of Ron Martin. At least we'll have the best ground in the conference in 2 years eh, Mr martin.

The Hopper money was spent paying up Kiernan and Cox....

About time Talk Sport did a follow up interview .....Probably struggling to contact our invisible chairman

Again whilst I am sure we won't get/and haven't received the special favourable treatment reserved for preferred/larger clubs, at the same time this is an over reaction. A number of EFL clubs have been late on wages . We were in Dec late with some wages. We demonstrably had a situation of significantly under budgeted revenue due to an extended period with no home games. Arguably EFL has already treated us more harshly compared with other clubs and certainly compared with say a Bolton where the EFL fell over themselves to allow them to register a number of players before the window closed.

Bolton's excuse for their second let off for not fulfilling fixtures (to go with repeated non payment of wages) was it was not possible to play youth/young players regularly/game after game. Whilst the EFL refuse to allow us to register the two Macclesfield players (and I now suspect Ted Smith) they run the risk of placing us in the same situation- wouldn't it be interesting to see the penalty given us versus Bolton? Already Macclesfield are appealing their points deduction based on the Bolton case (did that appeal get decided?)
