FC - Season 24

21 points behind leaders and effectively I can't promote but I've gone near full strength and unusually with 5 rather than 4 bowlers. Only one other team can stop them last game of the season or in reality reduce their bonus points if I can win this and get within a few points of them.

Tougher proposition than last week with our weakened team but we won a vital toss with the weather forecast as PCH/Sunny/PCH. Happy for them to tick along at this pace to burn a lot of overs, would rather we do the majority of our batting tomorrow. 8 man bowling line up today!

End of Over 26 (5 runs). Judgy's Legacy: 44-2, runrate=1.69
Overs left today: 84
Wilkshire 5-1-16-1
Ipaye* 12 (23 balls)
Challinor 16 (79 balls)

Last Wicket: Allen b. Wilkshire 15 (FOW: 27/2)

Veeery slow progress here, slowly chipping away. Though their Englang NT all rounder is in now, he was on lively fitness last week but the PFL bug has brought him back to sublime which is a pain, he could yet wreak some havoc, just carted Uda for three boundaries in an over.

End of Over 60 (12 runs). Judgy's Legacy: 117-4, runrate=1.95
Overs left today: 50
Udayakumar 6-2-23-1
Meadows* 1 (5 balls)
Melville 26 (34 balls)

Last Wicket: Ipaye c & b. Digana 34 (FOW: 101/4)

More like it

End of Over 3 (1 run). Napster's XI: 10-0, runrate=3.33
Trail by 196 runs. (Green Socks 206-10)
Overs left today: 27
Swan 2-0-4-0
Allan* 1 (5 balls)
Jefferson 9 (13 balls)

Interesting here. Bowler opps out for 215 and am in the 70s for 2 including 20 off the first over. Even if I win I doubt I'll overhaul the defecit and I will remain 3rd until second from last game into the season. Three FC bots in a row after this so max PFL for OD autopromotion push and BT if it happens which is entirely possible.

Happy for them to tick along at this pace to burn a lot of overs, would rather we do the majority of our batting tomorrow. 8 man bowling line up today!
It worked, they went through the whole day at 2 per over and we finished them off quickly this morning. We're now going along nicely at a much better rate in the sun. Hopefully we can pass their score and have another go at them in PCH tomorrow.

Oh and if you decide to play 8 bowlers don't bother, the captain will just ignore the 8th one.

End of Over 31 (1 run). ShrimperZone CC: 124-2, runrate=4.00
Trail by 125 runs. (Judgy's Legacy 249-10)
Overs left today: 76
Meadows 7-0-26-1
Findley* 60 (85 balls)
Bacon 28 (34 balls)

Last Wicket: Ahsamuddin c. Chuguel b. Melville 32 (FOW: 63/2)

Worth fighting hard to finish second, the benefit of having your first FC game away is pretty major and you're likely to catch a bot or sell up drifting down giving you a good chance of boosting confidence early (though bots are always nice to have mid season).

Collapsed, can't really be surprised, our middle order is so brittle. Desperately need another exquisite/masterful batsman.

End of Over 44 (5 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 167-5, runrate=3.80
Trail by 82 runs. (Judgy's Legacy 249-10)
Overs left today: 63
Chuguel 9-0-45-0
Findley* 88 (126 balls)
Gulpen 4 (8 balls)

Last Wicket: Graham b. Ayaz 7 (FOW: 162/5)

All set for an interesting days play.

The players are off the field for the change of innings.

End of Over 40 (1 run). Judgy's Legacy: 111-10, runrate=2.78 (1st Inn: 249-10)
Lead by 159 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 201-10)
Overs left today: 105
Graham 11-1-26-5
Melville* 57 (92 balls)

39.6 W Graham to Sweeney
The umpire has given him out! The entire right-hand side of the stadium is in uproar from disbelief. Food and drinks are being thrown onto the ground. The ball seemed to be going past leg stump. Replays show otherwise: he's out. The crowd is silenced.

Nice way to finish off an unexpected win.

End of Over 65 (8 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 164-3, runrate=2.52 (1st Inn: 201-10)
Lead by 5 runs. (Judgy's Legacy 249-10 & 111-10)
Overs left today: 40
Chuguel 12-3-35-0
Udayakumar* 3 (15 balls)
Findley 37 (46 balls)

Last Wicket: Bacon b. Melville 1 (FOW: 143/3)

64.6 6 Chuguel to Findley
Oh no! Chuguel has got it all wrong, Findley says thank you very much and slots the ball over midwicket for six.

Checking in on a quick visit home from my usual Xmas drive about and can see that we're being held up by a very annoying 10th wicket partnership!

End of Over 110 (4 runs). Legendary Knights: 244-9, runrate=2.22
Digana 23-6-54-0
Bood* 33 (65 balls)
Mohamed 27 (38 balls)
Last Wicket: Ajzam c. Udayakumar b. Pouwels 47 (FOW: 215/9)

A very up and down game, they put on 85 for their 10th wicket in the first innings which was rather annoying. We then stumbled our way to 261 but the bowlers did their jobs second innings and we look like taking a win (which in the grand scheme of things will be fairly irrelevant).

The players are off the field for the change of innings.

End of Over 35 (3 runs). Legendary Knights: 64-10, runrate=1.83 (1st Inn: 300-10)
Lead by 103 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 261-10)
Overs left today: 83
Digana 2-1-3-1
Mckinley* 27 (71 balls)

Big game in our quest for second and we're not doing a good job of it, bowlers toiled to bowl them out in friendly conditions and we lost a lot of wickets very quickly in reply. These two attempting to dig us out of a hole but can't see a positive result coming. Hopefully we can get within 40 of them and hope our recent 2nd innings bowling form surfaces again.

End of Over 53 (7 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 147-5, runrate=2.77
Trail by 76 runs. (Eppleton CC 223-10)
Overs left today: 85
Hope 16-5-38-2
Graham* 11 (26 balls)
Findley 62 (130 balls)

Last Wicket: Udayakumar c. Owens b. Hope 1 (FOW: 103/5)

Playing top of the table Akichita who are pretty much promoted, set a flat pitch to try for three days receipts but we've actually gone pretty well. Still an outside chance of finishing second if we can avoid defeat and Eppleton slip up against Judgys. Judgys are currently 240-4 so a good chance of a draw in that one.

End of Over 74 (3 runs). Nadouessioux Akíchita: 234-6, runrate=3.16
Overs left today: 36
Graham 11-0-50-0
Anuiyelewa* 72 (138 balls)
Waugh 1 (8 balls)

Last Wicket: Ghauri c. Findley b. Udayakumar 18 (FOW: 225/6)
