This is one of those things that seems so very wrong but bear in mind that whilst fans support one club and one club only (generally) players don't. They have all played for several teams and know each other through other connections.
So - would this be as bad if we were near the top of the league and had been properly giant killed? Or if we had won, even?
Are we saying that if a team loses then the player must stay at home at all costs and not venture out for a night of fun?
Are we saying that players should never have a post match drink with the opposition (happens all the time in other sports)?
Or is it more to the point that we as fans are hurting to the core and it doesn't appear like the players have the same feelings? Which, bearing in mind it's just a job to them, is not overly surprising.
So, serious question - what's the crime here? As I say, it seems wrong but I can't put my finger on what the issue is (aside from HL being stupid and doing something that has the perception of being awful and has absolutely ****ed off the fan base).

I pop on for the first time in five years and you’re still talking utter bollocks. See you in another five.

I think it is more PR than HR. He's not done anything that breaches his contract I imagine but it just looks absolutely terrible. This is one of those things that seems so very wrong but bear in mind that whilst fans support one club and one club only (generally) players don't.
