Whatever happened to the 'big' striker, training with a northern Division 1 team, that Southend had agreed terms with and was supposed to join. RM claimed Southend had outbid a Division 1 team for his services.

Wouldn't surprise if that striker was Calvin Andrew, if that the case glad we didn't sign him!

Not entirely sure we need another winger, but if there’s space in the budget Rowe would be quite an exciting signing. Good eye for goals and assists and very quick too. Scored a great goal against league leaders Carlisle a couple of months back

And in those 17 days we have 5 matches and 15 points to play for. Thankfully we're in a better position than in November and things may not be as time critical as they were, but I wouldn't want to wait until the last day to make any more signings.

I still think the best business we can do is keeping all the players we have. The out of contract players a probably more likely, obviously we've got Taylor, now Olayinka. This group has started to turn good and I'd like the fewest disruptions the better.

I do like the fact that not many people are truly 'ITK' anymore. It makes for good surprises when things are announced and also makes the club more professional with very little in the way of rumours under the new regime

It's been like that for a while... people genuinely ITK would be club directors and employees, players and players families, agents and people close to or involved in the deal. NONE OF THEM would intentionally plaster a rumour on a message board at the risk of jeopardising the deal. Ryan Hall's g/f posted on Twitter something like "We're off to Leeds!" before the deal was announced. It was removed pdq but obviously was seen first. But she wasn't a fan and it wasn't an intentionally leaked rumour, the poor lass just couldn't contain her excitement and needed to plaster it across Social media to announce her promotion in the WAG league.

We've got the occasional teasing comments that spark wild speculation and a trawl through lists of available players, a scour of the Football Manager database and other clubs message boards but which rarely hit the target. This is quite surprising really because it sometimes seems that there aren't any names left to speculate on, yet still there is always an announcement that's a surprise.

But recently we haven't even had that. Almost every announcement has been a complete surprise in as much as no-one was actually expecting the announcement as opposed to the identity of the player being announced..

It's a very positive development - evidence of professionalism and also gives some clues as to where the info may have been coming from before.
