There you go again deliberately conflating the IRA with Sinn Féin and peddling other half truths about DA. One reason why many don't like her though is because she's an outspoken,articulate,black,female left winger.

(BTW, have you read some of the criticism that SCP comes in for on here after every defeat)?

Labour are not unelectable while they have people like Jeremy Corbyn and Diane Abbott in their leadership team.

Just picked up on this, for clarity can you confirm that anyone criticising CP at this time is doing so because he is a black man?

Barna is merely pointing out that CP does get regular criticism. Barna has made not reference to CP's ethnicity.

Many people dislike Abbott for varied and valid reasons but it is a fact that she gets more abuse that all other female MPs added together and that much of it is racist and misogynistic abuse.

I'm nothing but critical of Powell. I very much doubt Barna thinks it's because he's black.

Again - read Rigsby's post which brings Chris Powell into a discussion about Diane Abbott, Barna is rejecting the notion that Powell gets an easy ride for any reason or a hard time for any reason. Barna is rejecting any link between Abbott and Powell that had been made by another poster.

Anyone with the faintest knowledge of Irish history would concede that was a very apt analogy re the treatment of the catholic minority in NI and of course in a much wider sense the whole history of the British colonisation of Ireland.

I most certainly did not suggest this, though it might well be an indirect factor in some of the criticism of him. Who knows?

Clearly,you don't necessarily have to actually visited Northern Ireland itself, in order to have some "knowledge of Irish history." They're not the same thing at all.
