Obscure local football teams you played for in your distant past

Rayleigh boys and Island boys as a kid. Then took a few years out until joining Shrimperzone when there was just the one team and we trained at boots and laces. Played for them for about 2 or 3 years and they had a pretty decent team to be fair and I remember we won a lot more than we lost. Think we got a few promotions and cup wins. Then joined Kursaal Flyers to play with my cousin, probably played my best football there I'd say, also scored a hattrick when playing my one and only game against Shrimperzone. Then played a handful of games for Disaranno after losing a bet with my mate who played for them, they were that bad!!!

I played a few seasons for Monarchs back in the mid seventies when we always played Friday nights so playing then was not a problem. Soon found playing both days at the weekends was a bit much even for a young me so then stuck to Sunday's and played almost from the beginning of Sutton Sports before playing Vet's for Chalkwell for a few years.

Ashingdon Boys
Stambridge
Rochford Sports
Wallaker

late 80's early 90's

Rayleigh yc and corinthians in the Southend youth league in the 60's. One season for leigh ramblers before switching to Sunday league with Hadleigh crown for a good number years until progressed to veterans league with them. I finished mid 90's with leigh ramblers in vet's league.

Not that Johnny Morris ( I suspect) but a pretty useful local footballer who played in the same Earls Hall Primary School team as me and a few other zoners. :Winking:

Usually see Phil at our FA Cup away games.

Last time was breakfast at Dover.

Tiffany would have played better.

Saturday vets or Sundays ??

I finally hung my boots up on 4th April as managed to seriously do my ankle ligaments for the 2nd time, had enough of the pain, been playing vets for years for foulness at the start, catholic Utd, Britannia academicals, Railway, and then Rochford town, need to get the ankle right and continue my running.

I never believed that this thread would have much longevity, but it's great that I was wrong. Keep them teams coming and there really must be some more team photos gathering dust somewhere, get 'em out!

The last time I saw him was in the Borough Comb.He was playing for Hewlyn, I was turning out for Homestead.Remember their team all applauded me off for a last ditch tackle I'd made.We still lost the game narrowly IIRC.

I’ve played for numerous clubs over a very long period times. They include Hawthorns, as a child, Thames Park, Homestead Avenue, Thorpe Athletic, Eastbourne Grove and Trinity where Anton Otulakowski was manager. The best team was the one in in the photo, SUFC Supporters Club Not necessarily in ability, but in terms of results and enjoyment. We won two consecutive national supporters clubs tournaments and a tournament organised by Brentford.
