Your very own Shrimperzone FC (currently on a 1 match unbeaten run - our best ever streak

) are taking part in an eleven a side tourney on the hallowed turf this Sunday with group games at 11am, 12 mid-day and 2pm with semi-finals and finals from 3.30 pm if we get that far. Realistically this is a pretty tough ask as some of the other teams are extremely strong but we weill be giving it our all to put in a good account of ourselves.

If you are at a loose end please feel free to come down and give us your support. We would really appreciate it.

The East Stand food and drink bars are open throughout the day.  We are trying to get all family, friends etc congregated in the same part of the ground. With the kind permission of SUFC we also have all of our games being videoed on Sunday. You might end up finding yourself on it cheering one of Dave's wonder goals

BTW - SZFC is progressing nicely. We are joining the Sceptre League in September, we have a new kit coming, have applied for a pitch for next season and have a substantial amount of money in the bank (though that will soon be eaten up with pitch fees, kit etc). All this achieved without a sponsor and with the hard efforts of the committee, the squad and a host of other people who regularly give up their time.

Are you looking for new players for next season? I am getting myself in shape now and could do with signing for a team for next season.

Yes if some company wants to give us some money to sponsor us, we'll quite gladly take it off your hands and you will be part of history ... somehow!!

I saw a comment earlier (but I'm blowed if I can find it again) about only the East Green's being open on Sunday. Is this correct ?

We are expecting hundreds of you to turn up and support us on Sunday - Any takers?

Well the East Greens is where everyone sat last time. The whole of the East was available but not enough people turned up.

Tempted to hop on a flight, but it falls just a little short of Cardiff. I'll be listening in via Blues World and I'll see the highlights on Sky.
