Think Ron went out for a Currie (David) in his new Bentley (Mark) last night. He obviously had a nightMaher later on that the club was about to be run properly !

Let's hope the negotiations work out for Stan and the club

UTB !
Who is this David Currie?

Didn't take long for everyone to turn on Ron again did it

He didn't even mention speaking to Ron and would not the new CEO be in charge of the appointment who he is going to be speaking to again. Did Stan not say in the last zoom call that it didn't matter who was in place as long as it followed the process.
I don't think it will take much for this fanbase to explode, we've had it downhill for such a long time.

Stan has lit a fire under us and that will either reflect positively if he gets his role, or it will reflect badly if he doesn't. A lot of fans trust that Stan's 'the man' to see the plan through.

Either way I can tell this fanbase is now hungry for forward-thinking, meaningful changes. I don't see SUFC fans lying down over this should it go sour.

Hoping for a positive outcome next week but can't deny that this news has p***ed on my chips.

What is wrong with the club ensuring the get the best value for a service? How does anyone know Stan is asking for a fair rate etc?
Exactly. When arguably, the two biggest failings of Ron’s tenure have been his lack of cost control and DD, let’s at least accept the fact that we’re proceeding with a sensible degree of caution.

Sincerely hoping we find a mutually acceptable way forward for all parties.

Clearly I spoke to soon last night! Maybe it was all bit of pipe dream..... I feel sorry for the fans going to daggers tomorrow who would of been in high spirits, but now will be deflated.

Stan has described what he brings as being a facilitator. He also appears to have a vision. To me a facilitator/visionary is not a "do'er"* so it would seem that maybe a consultant or a part-time role is best for that - which may help the salary expectations.

* from how Stan describes the interview process it seems that he was indeed a "do'er" in that so I may have misunderstood Stan's facilitator role

I'm at a loss to Ron's thinking here. Stan has taken so much heat off of him which will surely come back on and to palm him off makes me think Ron's of wanting the best for the club is an act. I think Ron fears the transparency that Stan wants to bring,

Beware of speaking for everyone. We’ve made massive progress already and we may still continue to. I’m going to Daggers tomorrow with far more optimism than I’ve had in years.

As with all negotiations there is a back and forth with compromises on both sides so we'll revisit the situation early next week to see if we can agree a deal.

Could have said, negotiations are still taking place…

He did.

I don't see a problem with his update. Basically they are trying to agree on the details of the role and his remuneration. Negotiations will continue next week. Even if they don't come to an agreement, the club is going to be in a much better place (excellent CEO and 3 excellent coaches) than before he got involved.

It isn't his fault that the default setting for many on here (not saying you by the way) is a small bit of bad news (or even the delay of good news) and everything has turned to **** again. I don't blame people for being anger or upset after the last 3 years, but it seems like anything not 100% positive that comes out of the club is met with outrage.

i wasnt blaming RM all i asked is that RM dosent allow him to walk away again over a few dollars or whatever the hold up is,. Im sure RM has now seen for himself how SVC can gelboth the club a and its supporters and move this club forward into a new and bright future ALA has as been done with Brentford and many others that were once languishing in the lower divisions along with us , RM must see that with a successful club our support will grow ,there are so may out there just willing for a successful Southend United football club, and a 22000 seater stadium will be full to capacity should that day eventuate .

Is this not Tom's job , to question and flag anything he feels is not within budget or the vision for the club.

I hope it works out but it seems we are very quick to jump to assumptions, lets just sit tight , focus on tomows game and getting behind the team

Bad timing on the eve of a game but lets hope it doesn;t affect the lads tomow in their quest for 3 points
