It has been agreed by the owners of the Zone that due to the current climate we will allow members to post any job vacancies and also anyone looking for work can advertise their services.

For obvious reasons the Zone cannot be held responsible in any way for problems that arise from adverts placed. We reserve the right to remove any posts felt in-appropriate. We will not allow any full adverts or links to outside sites.

Adverts should be simple and along the following lines "Builder wanted to build a garden wall. Please PM me". Alternatively "I am a plumber with 20 years experience looking for work. Please PM me".

There will be no charge by ShrimperZone for this service but any satisfied members can make a donation if they wish.

University Students

If anyone is looking for a summer job this year then there is an excellent one available at Southend Hospital. I did it for a couple of years and it involved basic data analysis and data sifting and correcting. It would suit someone interested in data analysis and potentially working in the NHS/health information systems. Previous experience isn't needed but decent numeracy and computer skills (Excel especially) are important.

Not sure what the pay is like now days, It was about £7 p/hr last time I was there which isn't bad, hours are flexible too so don't have to work all week.

The position is predominantly office based but will involve some travel to client sites.

The roles are ideal for someone wanting to get into the IT industry with a company that is keen to progress their staff. FSI (FM Solutions) Ltd has an extremely good staff retention record which is achieved through investing in and progressing its staff.

There are currently a number of 1st and 2nd line support positions available for individuals with a wide range of skills. The 1st line role would be suitable for a graduate with good technical and communication skills.
