The Wire

I watched Rock'n'Rolla for the first time last night... I was shocked at seeing Stringer pull off a believable cockney accent.

Does anyone else think McNulty looks like Brett Angell?

I don't want to read too much of this thread in case theres any spoilers, what with 5 season already been and gone!

I've just gone off to find episode 1 to check it out, I'm very interested to see how BBC2 handle the dialogue. I hope they are not going to do any rubbish edits of the "mofos". I can see Points of View will be "Wire heavy" after the first episode goes out!

Its on at 11 isn't it? Will they get away with the C word even at that time?

Virgin took the first series off TV Choice before I could watch it all so I downloaded the last few episodes.

I think it's on most nights after 11pm, does it use the C word? American TV does not normally carry too much bad language, Dexter being an exception.

I've series linked this on Sky+ and am looking forward to seeing it.

Yeah it does the use the C word. Its pretty full on in the language department.

Thank God for HBO, unblemished by the hand of conservative middle America and the advertisers!

Starts on BBC2 tonight, doesn't it? I've set our Freeview recorder thingy to record the whole series - although it'll be taking second place to The West Wing, which the missus and I are really into at the moment.

:)

I would suggest that if you like The West Wing (fast dialogue, intricate plots and sub-plots, slow and deep development of characters) then you'll absolutely love The Wire. They are my two favourite TV shows. Probably best to concentrate on just 1 though!
