I cycle through Old Leigh several mornings a week an a lot of the fish and shellfish is out the back of a van.

I get my supplies from 'West's Seafood's' cockleshed no.3. They go to Billingsgate crack of dawn every Thurs for most of their fresh fish. Plus they have their own boat which covers the area from Leigh to 'The Wash', for coc kles ( when allowed to catch them ), whelks & shrimps etc.

Following a 7 mile walk to Southend & back in very blustery conditions, a generous fillet of cooked smoked Scottish salmon has been ravenously devoured in sarnies!.
