Question What is making you happy today?

The visit to the vet. Maurice the rescue cat went in this morning to have his toothies cleaned and some extractions. Last week the vet had threatened 4 to 8 teeth may need to be extracted. Today it went down to two small ones. This reduced the cost from the £500 estimated to £350. I'll settle for that.

Is that because people want to sell or have to sell?

I predict a lot of leased Range Rovers being returned over the next few months as well.

It's a mix of things - the stamp duty holiday is playing a massive part, but we were busy before that anyway.

We put it down to enforced togetherness during lock down meaning more kids are realising they want their own places and more couples are realising they don't want to be with the same partner!

There have been a lot of probates too, of course.

Didn’t even think about things like couples splitting up over lockdown. It was really make or break for a lot of relationships.

We always get it after Christmas - force people to spend more time together and you always find that some find that they simply don't want to/can't do it anymore. It's much more noticeable now, but the biggest input is from 1st time buyers getting on the ladder - we're not only listing loads, we're selling them too....anything up to around the £500k mark. Multiple offers on many properties - one lady has had her bungalow up for sale for the last two years with other agents, we've got her three offers, one of which was over asking price after having it on for just a week.

Have you noticed prices dropping or staying around the same as pre covid?
