Wimbledon 2017

Well, first time at Wimbledon and we're hooked. Queued up at 6, got in at 11. Scorching hot day! Didn't realise how amazing it looks. First game we sat on court 12 ans watched Ana Konjuh come from 5-1 down in the first set to win 7-6, 3-6, 6-4. I was baking hot just watching - god knows how they played for 2 and a half hours. Then over to court 3 to watch Martina Hingis in the womens doubles destroy some Russians. Then a wander through the smaller games, before joining Murray Mount to watch Andy. We had to leave at 7:45 (it was a School trip) so wandered to the exit, but then someone came up to us and gave us centre court tickets, so we went and watched a few Murray games which was incredible. Great day fully recommended.

I defy anyone to not be hooked once they've visited. The place is amazing, and the atmosphere even just walking around the grounds is incredible. Wimbledon really is a special place.

I really hope he makes the semis. Did I mention I'll be there? No? Well, for clarity:

I have two tickets for the mens' semi finals!

I may have to mention it again before the week's out!

Hopefully he's had a mini wobble and it'll be plain sailing until Sunday afternoon.

Right, definitely entering the ballot for 2018!

i'll be honest LB, many years ago I won debenture tickets for centre court final re Zena Garrison v Martini N, who then won a record title and wish I had given them to a fan of tennis

Overpriced on strawberries and merchandise and really thought it was shabby, this was before Court No 1 had been rebuilt

Enjoyed the outer courts more, but was very disappointed with centre court and the final was disappointing as poor Garrison froze on the day, as said not a tennis fan so maybe this is why

UTS

My missus isn't a tennis fan (but is now), and we didnt buy any food/drink in there - took everything ourselves. Bought a programme and a few ice creams and that was it. Centre court atmosphere was incredible!

I had tickets for the men's semis involving Nadal vs Bhagdatis and Feds v Bjorkman. It was one way traffic, both won in straight sets, and to be honest quite dull. Still loved the experience and would love to cheer on a Brit.

Isn't the ballot system very dated? Not a case of filling in some forms online. You have to send back a self addressed stamped envelope for an application.

That's the one. A bit mental in this day and age but there you go!

I think it's probably because it will only attract genuine fans. People who just fancy going might look at that and think it's too much effort and leave it.

You also get what you're given - i.e. it could be Centre Court for the men's final or it could be Court One on the first Tuesday. whatever you end up with is good, but again, a quite different way of doing things.

Those sorts want locking up.

These "lads" have been camping since Saturday morning.

I concur with the honourable gentleman.

Admittedly everything is overpriced, but you don't have to buy it. We're taking our own picnic. If you can't be bothered to carry a picnic with you, Wimbledon will supply one. A picnic for two is £90! But they don't make you buy anything.

I find it amazing that anyone can watch a match on Centre Court and not find the atmosphere incredible, but I suppose there's always one!

We went during the Olympics but unfortunately the weather was very hit and miss (we had seats on court 1) and I'd also managed to pick up food poisoning which came on throughout the day which sort of ruined it for me. Hoping to be able to go next year!

Don't think it's really been that good yet ... this week should be very interesting and looking forward to hopefully Rafa vs Murray and Federer vs Nole semis on Friday!
