Come Home Adam Barrett

No surprise to see the Brown didn't like/feared Barrett myth is still alive and well.

PB expected Adam to be the voice in the changing room......It might come as a shock to some fans but that is where the message gets hammered home and certainly not by a manger performing fan pleasing routines on the touchline.

Except it’s not a myth.

On Sunday I was out and spoke to someone in the know at length about the managerial position at Blues as well as the good old days under Steve Tilson.

Apparently Steve and Adam want to job as a duo.

Phil Parkinson is 100% interested in taking the job as is Gary Rowett

The playing budget for this season is nearly twice what Tilly had in our season in the Championship

Kightly was apparently on 7k a week last season, Turner 4.5k so just those two leaving created a lot of headroom in the Budget for Bond.

The source feels there is currently a massive disconnect between the players staff and the fans and that needs to be sorted out.

He couldn't believe the tactics that Bond was using and was aghast that he did things like playing Elvis wide right for a couple of games

He does however like the squad and thinks we are capable of much much more than we are showing at present.

Wether or not Tilly and AB get the job remains to be seen but thought it worth giving you all the update

Good stuff! Sounds promising!

Another ringing endorsement.......again, from somebody who has recently played with Barrett at the club and knows the effect that he had on the dressing room.

More than that, it’s from a player who played the bulk of his career in the Premier League under numerous decent managers and he has still endorsed Barrett.

Why wait 5 years.....his career could be in tatters by then, if he goes to the wrong club, doesnt get the right breaks etc etc.

Don’t think Lincoln or Bournemouth waited 5 years for their respective managers!

It’s all about the right here right now....who else would lift the malaise around our football club. For Parkinson it’s just another club...very much like Bond.

Their really is only one Adam Barrett!!!
But in 5 years time we will have been in our new stadium for over a year and on a sound footing to Barrett's benefit.

This is a very interesting endorsement.

Interesting in three ways. One, it shows Barrett commands respect in the dressing room - even players who played at a much higher level than the (wholehearted but) limited Barrett seem to respect him.

Second - what prompted it? it could be following up Ben Coker's tweet - but why now when it would have been buried down Anton's timeline (and where is that tweet now?). It could be prompted by Chris Phillips as part of his campaign for Barrett contacting him for a story - if so we may see a story from Phillips quoting him this evening. If not, is Barrett calling in favours to campaign for it?

Third - there seems to be an issue in the dressing room. Two players who were recently part of the dressing room have now proposed him as the solution.

Wow surprised someone would divulge so much info, if going for the role

Doesnot seem to be a good thing if still in talks

Not calling you out, but I wouldnot be too happy if Chairman and read this on a forum

Maybe I am old fashion and like to conduct things without it being known

Or maybe he is proud to be linked with the job and can;t contain his excitement , the defense is most definitely an area that needs huge work on and the attitude of some players if what i read on here is true .

does this need vasts amounts of experience to put right , IMO no , he could well be the right man to get this job done, one thing we all know is that the 11 players will all be giving 100% on the pitch with him in charge , is that enough , who knows but its 40% more than what they are giving at the moment

If they give 40% effort, its 40% more than they are giving at the moment.
