SZBC Episode V - The SZBC Strikes Back

All, time soon for another ShrimperZone Beer Club meeting I reckon. I suggest we all try and meet up for a few before the Millwall game on February 12th at The Market Porter near London Bridge. A few pints in there and we can head of to the New Den shortly after 7pm. Who's in?

    Pubs for Donny

Anybody done any research as to which pubs they will be frequenting before the game tomorrow? I am guessing as it's an out-of-town stadium, the choice will be limited. Also, for those driving and parking in the stadium vicinty, be aware it's a fiver to park! Further information here!

Defeat in pub TV football appeal

1-0 to the money men IMHO, I notice a lot of pubs round here have started exploring this loophole. They will probably have to get rid their Arab systems as a result of this hearing. Taken from Aunty Beeb: A publican has suffered a setback in her High Court battle to use a foreign broadcaster -...
  6. West Brom pub in East End

As I'm now living in Bethnal Green, (but kept my SZ name for alliterative purposes), today I finally got to checking out the Albion pub here, to watch Man U v Liverpool. Very randomly it is a West Brom Albion themed pub, landlord is a Baggie, but has paraphanalia from lots of teams, and happy...

    Oxford Pubs

Not sure if this has been covered but.... Having missed the league game there a couple of years ago and apart from the obligatory Wetherspoons/TGI Fridays are there any decent pubs anywhere near the ground?

    Lager

I prefer 'proper' beer as opposed to lager, but sometimes a pint of cold and fizzy is exactly what you need. So I ask the good people of SZ this: what is your favourite lager? There are tons to choose from of course, so I've had to keep it quite anglo-centric and stick with those widely...
  12. Angry.

Well, I am sitting the BA lounge waiting for my return flight to Sao Paulo absolutely fuming after the antics of two brothers CSJ and TMWLT. As some of you may or may not know one of my hobbies is playing the drums in a band called the "British Bulldogs", we play at the Irish pubs in Sao Paulo...

    Pubs for tomorrow.

Afternoon, Last time I went to Walsall we drew 2-2 with a lovely late goal from the Goat. Does anyone know where to drink? We hit the supporters club bar which was OK but a bit bent. Anyone got any good tips? DtS

London City Pubbing - The Old Days

Looking at the clubbing thread brought back a few memories of the good old days when I was young, free and used to enjoy life. It was very hard to find many pubs in the City that stayed open beyond 8.30/9pm in those days, unless you fancied the rare "delights" of of the Railway Tavern or the...
  18. Pubs this saturday

Sorry if this has already been mentioned. What's the deal with pubs/The Spread this Saturday? Are they all shut?
  19. Mad Cyril

    Bad pubs.

I have made a point of visiting most pubs in the area but I have never fancied The Sherlock Holmes (formerly the Moonraker) in Westcliff. I have never drunk there but I imagine they serve crap beer (Tennants or McEwans) and a punch up is always on the cards. Other pubs I have avoided are...
  20. Dodgiest Away ground.

They just showed a documentary on our cable Television here in Sao Paulo called the Real Football Factories with Danny Dyer. I know the man is a bit of a knob and some of his sayings etc are quite cringable but none the less the it was quite an intesting programme and brought back some memories...
