Can't stand the end of season tension so I am escaping with the wife to Southwold for the weekend next Friday. Anyone recommend eateries, pubs, massage parlours, chip shops or any entertainment ? Cheers.

Where is best place you have lived?

For me it has to be Great Malvern in Worcestershire where I spent 1999 to 2001 as a contractor. Amazing scenery, great pubs, cheap rents and a very relaxed pace of life.

  9. One for the codgers

Spent the afternoon at Portabello market, ignoring the antiques etc I was naturally drawn to a couple of pubs and the book and vinyl stalls. I picked up a couple of Charlie Buchan magazines, one which featured goalkeeper Lawrie Leslie on the cover. He was the first Blues goalkeeper I ever saw...

    EDL on Southend seafront.

I drove past the seafront Saturday afternoon and noticed a heavy police presence. Outside one of the pubs was a group of people, some wearing EDL sweatshirts exchanging insults with a group of youths of various ethnicities. I later heard the EDL had arranged a meeting in one of the pubs...
