Absolutely Furious!

I can clear up the mystery regarding Foran for those of you who care.

He will be shipped out in the very near future to a mystery club which I cannot name for raesons of being sworn to secrecy and the buyers insisted that he did not play tonight.

I gather that if all goes to plan, Kaka will be moving in the opposite direction.

I can see the tabloid headlines now: "Cack and Kaka"...

I can let you into another secret - MacCormack is also part of the deal.

Cack and Macca for Kaka ?

I worked this out as Alan Mac is very close to being an anagram of A C Milan

If Foran is unwanted & we won't play him, then we should make him an offer on the remainder of his contract & tell him to FRO. If not, play him & make the most of his undoubted talents!

If we let Foran go he'd go straight to Darlington. At least this way we may be able to loan him out and get a few clubs pay his wages up for a few months

If we agree on an amount for him to leave which is agreeable to both parties, it could equate to the same! Also, we wouldn't have to carry on paying his insurances, NI contributions etc

I am sorry to go on about it, but the decision not to have Foran involved tonight has completely incensed me, and there is no justification for his absence.

This club needs to sort itself out very quickly otherwise the outcome is now inevitable - we are not good enough to stay in this division.

What a load of over the top, posturing nonsense. This has to be the most dramatic pointless silly post of the season so far.

How the hell do you know there is no justification for his absence? And don't you get incensed a little easily??

And what difference would Foran, who was being ridiculed and written off when he DID play, make to our team anyway? Why don't you give even a tiny amount of credit to Tilson, SURELY he has earned it?

I hope your other 6,500 posts were not as pointless as this.
RC's post was relevant and certainly needed to be said. This is a forum where Southend fans should be able to air their views. If you do not agree post something constructive if not ignore!!!

In your view it was relevant in my view it wasn't.

In my view your post above is completely unconstructive, but I don't object to you posting it even though you are telling me I don't have a right to post if, in your opinion, it isn't constructive. And to be fair, Fossett, I think I would have to trawl a long way through your posts before I came upon anything constructive.

RC's post is nonsense because he states as fact something that he can only conjecture about, and then gets his knickers in a twist and has a tantrum.

What part of RC's post?

The bit about Foran - which the club somewhere should address to the fans. Has the question ever been asked at an AGM or in a direct address to Ron?

Or the bit about 4 subs, which is totally unprofessional and surely at the very least, we should have had one of the youth team (prob 2 with Barney being crocked for the 28th time this season).

This bit, for one:
the decision not to have Foran involved tonight has completely incensed me, and there is no justification for his absence.

RC has no idea if there is a justification or not, so any comment he makes about it is ipso facto conjecture. The same applies, BTW, to the subs situation. We have no knowledge of the circumstances surrounding that decision, so no right to call it unprofessional.

Yes, it would be nice to have these things cleared up, but in my opinion this thread has been filled with prima donna posturing and waffle.

I'm not sure he would actually, they've just taken Danny Carlton from Carlisle, and that was after having Foran twice on loan.

We don't know the full facts. Foran, by all accounts, was dire for the reserves the other week. Foran maybe carrying an injury, you ever thought about that?
Foran wouldn't have won us the game tonight. Why would he put any effort in when he knows he has no future at the Club.

What about every other game this season (apart form his loan period to Darlo)

Looking at the disciplinaries, Foran's actually showing 5 yellows and having completed a one match ban. I'm assuming this was during his time at Darlington, which isn't bad going to have picked up that many in that time!

Foran is the least of our worries. We cant defend, cant keep the ball, cant put decent crosses in, cant finish off what chances we do create, have a very poor disciplinary record and a tightwad chairman.

But its ok cuz we held the mighty Chelsea to a draw and once beat Man U.

Totally unfair. It may be that the Chairman doesnt have the money, thats not his fault. Have you got the money? Why dont you give it to Tilly to buy a player? Thought so, which by your own reckoning makes you a tightwad too.

As posted on the Foran thread, here is Rons repsonse to my email sent to the club on Monday RE Foran.

Jonathan

Thank you for your email dated 23rd January addressed to myself and Steve Tilson. I only received a copy today and therefore apologise for the slight delay in responding.

I, too, would like to see Richie Foran featuring in the First Team squad. Once the August window closed and Richie remained a Southend player he was always available for selection – injuries apart.

Richie did recover from his knee operation and as you are aware did have a short, and I think successful, loan spell at Darlington but has since returned to the fold. As Richie was bought for £150,000 in the January window when the Club was in the championship he continues to be one of the Club’s highest paid players. It is therefore of no benefit to see him sit on the sidelines but equally if he does not feature in the Manager’s plans that is where he will remain until his contract expires in the summer.

I am sure you do not really think that we want ANY player sitting on the sidelines if they are never going to receive the Manager’s favour. I can assure you if that were the case I would want them off the wage bill immediately. Richie Foran is a case in point but unfortunately despite enquiries we have made of other Clubs there are no takers.

I am not sure if this necessarily answers the points in your email but at least gives you some background.

I am happy to answer any further questions you may have.

Regards

After a sore head last night, I've just got up to all this. I feel that this thread would be entirely justified if it had kept to the simple qestion of, demanding Steve Tilson, why there was not a full quota of substitutes on the bench yesterday evening? and why youths weren't included? I hope somewhere, someone will ask and i'm sure that Tilson will have a response. As for the rest........................
OH MY GOD, NOT ANOTHER ....WHERE IS FORAN? ......THREAD?
Irrespective of the fact that it is HIGHLY probable that his inclusion, on the bench, or otherwise, would have made absolutely no difference to the result, I thought that this question had been finally dealt with ......was it a couple of days ago, When it was asked again for the umpteenth time. Yet this thread goes even further, because it accuses Tilson of being DOWNRIGHT STUPID! How could you be anything else when, in our desperate straits, you don't include a player like Foran on the bench with no justification for his absence. Of course there is A B****Y JUSTIFICATION FOR HIS ABSENCE! Whether, when understanding the full reason for his continued absence, you agree with it..............that's another question. On that point, as I explained in an earlier post, you may then be dealing more with the man that is Tilson........and not the manager that is Tilson.
I found, with respect, the question of new faces rather onerous. We are ALL extremely concerned about the lack of new signings and the rapidly approaching closure of the transfer window. If there is one person MORE worried than us, it is Steve Tilson................probably to the point of tearing his hair out. The surprising 'leak' of our transfer targets last week certainly wanted to show the supporters that every effort is being made to bring people in but sometimes..........it's just not that easy. We ALL hope that there will be some movement by Monday but perhaps, for the moment, it is the time to show some empathy for Tilson's situation and not get on his back.
Now, can I go and finish my breakfast!

Interesting, just read it..............I wouldn't hold your breath in waiting for Steve's response. If anything it just illustrates that Ron may have a slightly different set of moral values to that of Steve Tilson.

Spot on

I was more incensed having waited for BBC Essex to interview Steve Tilson, the reporter didn't ask the question on every fans mind about players coming in between now and Saturday!

As I posted last night on the Tilly interview thread, that was probably because it was agreed before the interview started that there would be no questions on that subject.

Tilly did say we need more experience so you can read into that what you like. At this point in the transer window we are not going to get much more info than that. If we say who we are after, then he might get nicked from under our noses, leaving the person who mentioned it looking a right plonker.

I reckon Foran must have done something that Tilson believes was instrumental in us getting relegated from the Championship (which should never have happened). Tilson is a reasonable man so I'm guessing it must have been pretty bad and had a devastating effect on morale at that time.

Richard_Cadette started this thread because he was a little peeved:

I have, somehow, managed to remain relatively calm and reserved over the last few weeks, but tonight's events have left me spitting teeth with rage.

Even with a full strength side, you would expect it to be a tough match at Leeds, but to turn up at one of the strongest sides in the league with only 3 fit substitutes and an unfit Barney when you have a fully fit Richie Foran left behind is inexcusable.

Can this be the same Richard Cadette who welcomed our pal Richie with these warm words?

Oh I hope this isnt true. If he was barely good enough for a Carlisle team who spend three season attempting to stay in the football league before finally succumbing to the Conference, how on earth is he now good enough for us in the Championship?

Matt Harrold Mark II

And then, having actually seen him play, gave him this ringing endoresment?

I said when we were linked with him, somtime before we actually bought him, it would be a huge mistake as he was shown the door by Carlisle when they were struggling at the bottom of League Two, a couple of years before they finally succumbed to the drop to the Conference.

My question at the time was if he wasnt good enough for them, how on earth could he now be good enough for a team trying to avoid relegation from the second tier of English football?

The bottom line is he isnt. Yes, he started off OK, but from what I have seen, he is a complete waste of space. His effort is almost zero, he shows no enthusiasm for anything and the two misses against Luton were remarkable!

If he was trying his hardest, but just wasnt good enough, then fair play to the bloke, you cant criticise him for that. The only person at fault would be the management for spending all that money on someone who blaantly doesnt have the talent.

The problem is, not only does he not seem to have the quality, but he doesnt have any desire in him. He just strolls around like he doesnt have a care in the world, and I cannot stand that attitude from players.

It was a huge slice of money wasted by us if the figures being banded about are anywhere near accurate, and I only hope and pray that this so called relegation clause works in our favour and we can get rid and move on.

If we cant, I fear we will be stuck with him for the remained of his contract before he walks away on a free, meanwhile draining our resources and offering nothing in return.

Seems like a lot of frustration over someone who "doesn't have any desire" and "blatantly doesn't have the talent".

;)
