Best 3 away games ever !!!

Glad all you guys agree. The amount of nuisance posting by this guy was unbelievable. I've let the other mods/owners guys know, but if they read through his posts then I'll be surprised if they disagree...

I think it's interesting that since the end of the season there is a series of duplicate accounts going on, which has resulted in a couple of accounts banned recently... perhaps it's just people bored!! I have no idea though, perhaps they should just get out and enjoy the weather :)

Damn I need to rep some more people cause you certainly deserve some Green for banning him.

I agree with most of the games mentioned and was luckily enough to be at most of them. I remember Northampton away when we went up via the playoff's (2004-05) actually beating Northampton in the semi-final but the league game at their place when we played pretty dire but Adam Barrett came up with two late goals to sneak a 2-1 win. Great away following that day.

Plus Macclesfield away on a Tuesday night that season when Macca scored a late winner for us to send us top of the league!

Swansea 2-2 2005
Chesterfield 3-4 2005
Crystal Palace 3-1 2006 ( great atmosphere, good support for full 90 minutes and a good first half performance followed by a good comeback from Palace. Even though we lost it was a good overall game.

Exactly my thoughts about a certain other SZ "situation" that is manifesting itself on here at the moment.........

Care to add anything Mr Crick?

I think that it being looked into Richard according to Matt and co,but have to agree it is becoming farcical

1) agree with glasgowSUFC, Derby 3-1 away 93, the best ever performance by a southend side away from home, went 1-0 down early on but knew we would still win, Jonathon Hunt was superb.
2) anyone remember this? Burnley away 82, won 5-3, Derek Spence sent off, about 12 of us made the midweek trip. we lost 4-1 at home in the return & they were promoted.
3) can't seperate Bury & Swansea so i'll be greedy!
not in this order by the way!

BOO HISS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went with Shrimptank for this one, along with Terry Hamlin, Scott Elliott and Andy Ward (IIRC) but we broke down on the M25  Walked to some place called Crews Hill and caught a train back into London. I think Scott and Andy went to Fulham vs Stockport, Palmer had to wait for his father in law to come and tow him away whilst me and Hamlin just went home, got in with about 15 mins to go and was gob-smacked at the scoreline... happy that we'd won but gutted cos i'd missed it

Birmingham 1-3 Southend, January 2007. Jaw-droppingly unbelievable. Away to one of the best teams in the league, 1-0 down early on to an og and we come back to win 3-1. Stunning.

Macclesfield 1-2 Southend, April 2005. Two goals from Macca, including a late, late winner. It all went quite mad on the away terrace at Moss Rose

Orient 0-2 Southend, January 2001. Who let the Abbey out?

I'm assuming that the Millennium Stadium win vs Lincoln doesn't really count as an away game as that would substitute any of the above.

Indeed Birmingham was unbelievable, we looked so comfortable and it was laughable when we went 3-1 up. Best half days holiday I have ever taken!

Mine would be the Plymouth game of this year were i think we lost 2-1 in the last minute with a 6 hour journey home afterwards......Don't ask why just was a good laugh as we knew we were down and could enjoy it.

Southampton of this year. Purely for the last 20 mins of the conga great laugh and again was nice to relax knowing we were down =]

League cup vs. West ham couple of years back, was my first away game, as my dad is a spammer but i still sad in the shrimpers end. Was a really good but bad experience with the result.

Have you ever seen us win away from home?

I too only started going to away games when we were in the second tier and it took me 27 games to see my first away win.

If I'm allowed a 4th vote, I might go for Carrow Road one snowy Boxing Day for the sheer novelty factor of it all. Jingle bells, jingle bells....

As I had a run in with the lovely local old bill I think that goes down as one of my worst.

Unless you are a repeat offender, that's not the one I'm talking about. I was referring to the game about 14 years ago, when Gary Jones scored the only goal and Mike Lapper broke his leg.
