David Blaine is trying to get himself hurt once again for the pleasure of the crowds. The bonkers stuntman and showman started his 60-hour ordeal hanged upside down over New York's Central Park. Although it may not seem much compared with his previous stunts, it may well be the hardest one ever.

Several doctors have already expressed concern at his attempt, claiming that disrupted blood flow could leave him blind or even kill him. David Blaine himself has claimed that he only trained up to six hours hanging upside down. From six to sixty hours is quite a stretch, and it seems that his crew is nervous too.

Sorry, I'm going to have to pick you up on this one. I can't believe you missed an opportunity to call Blaine 'the batty stuntman' - a phrase which I think is amusing on several levels (mostly lower ones though)...

So there's hope then?

what a ridiculous idea, I doubt ANYONE can hang upside down for sixty hours and wager that he'll be forced to get down before thirty.

In fact how long will he last?

I'll go for 17

20 tops.....he will die with out a doubt if he try to go for 60 hours, by all accounts he has already got a build up of blood on his brain

Maybe he is on his way out and this is the way he wants to do it - in front of his fans!

So he's risking excessive blood flow and blindness? I've always thought the bloke was a bit of a ******...

I agree - this is a completely idiotic thing to do. I thought he was pretty amazing when he did all the street magic stuff and everyone was talking about him. However, as soon as he starting doing all this weird near death stuff, people seem to view him as a bit of a freak and maybe even an attention seeker. I don't know ayone that is impressed by these stunts, they just think he is a pra*t

I think that you hit the nail on the head with your comments about being an attention seeker.

He yearns for notoriety and attention, but to be fair........ in a harmless way.

I watched a programme last night about a bloke who lived in Southend, woke up on the 1st Jan 1993 and decided he wanted to gain notoriety and attention so thought a good way to do this would to become a serial killer.....5 dead men later he received it.
