I knew a Tony who swore that his name was never Anthony and a Jamie who got irate if he got called James.
 
Also, Dave, your Mrs' name Lucie is a real, proper name, it's the French version of Lucy. Hollie is just a corruption of the correct spelling used by chavs and Americans.

Holly definatly, I dont think people will constantly link you girl to Holly Wells, christmas maybe...
 
Maybe the name association was particularly relevant to me because of working with children that age, and seeing their reactions at the time. We have some of both at the place I'm working at now - not suggesting it's common or anything there!
 
Holly for sure DTS..maybe you can add another middle name perhaps, "Ivy"..;)
 
Names are always getting shortened these days. I agree on the "Holly" front though. Just hope to high heaven she doesn't end up a midget with blonde hair, their always fiesty little sods otherwise (as the hand shaped marks on my face will testify to).
