Supporters Group News Next Zoom Meeting

Just watched the meeting. Some interesting things around Akinde being the eyebrow signing, if we didn't already know that!

Thought both Ron and Tom answered the questions well. Will be interesting to see Tom's "100 days in the job" in full when it's complete.

I do think that Tom is battling a little, to try to come across as super nice and accommodating of all fans, whilst juggling this with being commercial. I think some fans need to realise that we are a business that has been haemorrhaging money for a while, so whilst it's nice that 0.01% of fans like to buy their programme from the programme hut, they need to realise that this means paying another dedicated member of staff.

We want our club to be a success, and cutting costs needs to be one of the top items on the list, which Tom already seems to be proactively doing well.
Dedicated member of staff?

A youngster on commission.

What is he? A management consultant?

Would be interesting if this fella who was mentioned by Ron who seems to have been ,allegedly, diddling the club by buying numerous child tickets over a long period is on the zone and would like to explain himself…not a w itchunt but if he’s putting himself front and centre in protests ,albeit without the support of the organisers, how he can justify that as a course of action to withhold monies to the club he purports to support

Fatuous hyperbole - 0.01% of fans equates to less than one person.
Selling programmes just in queue-bound tea bars or ticket offices seems like a false economy to me.

I must have missed that.
What was that about?

Despite several posters claiming we haven't exceeded the playing budget already, we have.
Ron however says that he is prepared to put his hand in his pocket to fund further signings should the right ones become available.
Ron stated that there no further signings on our radar as things stand though.

Hence the need to offload Akinola and ANG

Ron had looked into one of the main people at the Save our Southend recent protests, who had a long history of only buying children's tickets, and, on one occasion, bought 32 - the suggestion being that he and his mates take pride in diddling Southend out of ticket money on a regular basis. This guy was not part of the official protest group according to several people.
