My nomination: David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars or whatever it's called. From what I'd read of it before I heard it, I was really looking forward to hearing it, and rushed out to buy it. I was so disappointed to find it to be a dull, turgid mess of a record. Radiohead are prozac compared to that thing. And it was responsible for bloody Bauhaus.
