He might not have counted when we signed him but having played he'd seem to count for any subsequent signings.

He only half qualifies to be signed by southend. You have to be 35 and over AND previously or currently injured for a while. ( I am joking of course- not all are old).

You never know though, a few years ago now, but I thought exactly that when we signed Mickey Stockwell from Ipswich. I thought not another past it Ipswich reject etc........... How wrong could I be, he was 35 at the time and had 3 great seasons with us playing many cup matches and 131 league games from 2000-2003.

Off the top of my head the best young loanee strikers we've had are Assombalonga, Robinson and Pigott. None of them have been from Premier League clubs and they all had a successful experience out on loan before.
