TBV/SZ Pub for Chelsea - United for Southend

Definately up for this! Would be great atmosphere and sight. That weatherspoons is cheap (for London) and big so I'm sure the landlord wont have a problem. Maybe the police might. Everyone head for Leicester square.

I have an idea that the Weatherspoons Pubs have issues about large groups of football fans, however I may be wrong. I suggest it may be better to negotiate a suitable watering hole along Fulham Broadway, we may be able to gain away club status with the landlord & OB.

The Met Police would probably prefer us in the City rather than in the West End too!

leicester square pubs are funny about letting in groups of lads of about 5+, may struggle to get served in alot of the bars actually on and around the square!

sayin that if i get a ticket i'll be there!!

I prefer the idea of Crosse Keys in Gracechurch Street in the City. Its a large Wetherspoons halfway between Liverpool St Station and Monument Station (Easy for District Line to Fulham Broadway). Those going to Fenchurch street will see that it is within easy reach for them also. Review and map below!

That's a nice idea too. I go there once a week usually. Nice big pub and cheap being a weatherspoons. It's the same reason I suggested Hamilton Hall which is straight at the top of the escalators of Liv Street.
As good as it would be to all take over Leicester Square, I don't see it happening due to the Police and Pub restrictions etc.

Not sure the Police will like the sound of football fans having an organised drink up in Leicester Square.

I bet the old bill will love the fact that we have done thier job for them, rounded up all the drinking Shrimpers in one place, before handing us all with another Section 27.

That's a good call Steve, but aren't City boozers closed on a Saturday?

The old bill could use Section 60 or 27.

But recently they have used Section 27 against away football supporters to stop them going to the game and forcing them to return home straight away, while giving a 48 hour ban for the area. Failure to comply resulting in arrest. See link.

This happened to a coach load for of young Colchester chavs going to the match at roots Hall this year it was stopped at harvester at Rayleigh (A127) after about an hour an half they got escorted all the way back to Colchester town centre

I am sure everyone will be ok as you are all came on the Tube/Trains and will be a massive operation for the police to escorted 100 to 500 fans on the city transport.... back to liverpool Street etc

Nice idea lee,but we won't be in,as soon as I read met police,we know where we drinking, and won't be any of the places in this thread, low profile for this game.....but again with my lot it could change lol

Good luck with it all and enjoy

Heading all the way to the City when the game is on my side of town? **** that for a game of soldiers.

Pubs for Saturday.

Speaking to London Fasto, Kristof and Callan in the Spread on Saturday and it seemed the SZ pub of choice was looking like the Cross Keys?

Are you Mo-Fo's down with this?
