Southend United set to confirm the double signing of Swindon's Paul Benson and Barnet's Rickie Holmes in the coming days. Paul Benson has stated that his love for Southend is behind the move while Rickie Holmes has said that it's a dream to play for his boyhood club again. These deals will see Elliot Benyon leave the club on loan to Woking while Jack Paxman set for loan to Great Wakering.

Chris Phillips said we'd need to win the lottery to get them at the moment. Both would be very good signings but I don't know if we can afford it.

I don't think so - Tomlin and Assombalonga with Corr and now Harris as back up is more than enough for league two outfit with no money.

That may be what WE want but Chris Phillips said last week that the club are keen to bring in a winger and a striker before the transfer window closes. As for Benson as others have said it was reported that he's out of our price range at the moment. :unsure:
