found this : Former Southend United striker Francis Laurent has been linked back to the Essex club. Former blue, 27, contract runs out with Belgian second division side K.V.K Tienen in the summer and the blues are interested in bringing the Frenchman back to Roots Hall. Laurent scored 9 in 56 appearances in his 2 years at Southend, and is set to rejoin back.

LOL.

Maybe we can get JFC back once he's fulfilled his dream of playing in the PL.

What a player he would have been if he was consistent! 1 good game every 10 games, and the other 9 he looked like bambi! Never sure what he was going to do next and sometimes even looked like he didn't know either.

Will always remember his skill against Chelsea that took Ashley Cole out the game.

I take it we don't get a percentage of anything Gary Hooper is sold on for...? If rumours are true 1% would come in handy!

We could still get a percentage from any future sales of Hooper as long as Scunthorpe continue to profit themselves.

For example
Southend -> Scunthorpe £250k and 10% profit percentage
Scunthorpe -> Celtic £2.5m and 10% profit percentage
Celtic -> Club X £8m

So when he went to Celtic the profit was £2.25m for Scunthorpe, and we got £225k from that
If he was to be sold by Celtic for £8m, their profit is £5.5m. Scunthorpe would make £550k and we'd make £55k

This is assuming that the percentage fee hasn't been bought out from us or from Scunthorpe.

I know its history & shouldn't be mentioned, but it still almost physically hurts to think how we let someone like GH slip through our fingers. Yes we've make a few hundred grand but it should have been millions, not to mention the goals he could have scored to keep us at least at L1 level before moving on. Probably the worst player-related ****-up we ever made, even worse than Kightley and that was bad enough. Anyway..
