I would think its a shoe in that we are trying to get Benyon out. No point in paying his wages when he only gets on from the bench in an emergency.

I heard couple of months back Watford wanted to take Britt back and give us Connor smith. So It's quite likely to be smith

According to BBC Essex, Britt has suffered another set back in his injury recovery so could see this Connor lad coming in. BUT, we still need to sort out the midfield, so hopefully we may get in at least another LW or CM befiore window closes. In luggy we trust.

If this is true, then it could be Connor Smith? Was on loan at Wealdstone with Assombalonga earlier last season. Guessing it will only be a short term long, but wonder if this means we are trying to get Benyon out too.

I've no idea on names but as Tampa Blue said earlier it was part of the deal that let Brit stay for the season that we would take another youth from Watford.

Bloody Daggers clogger............got away quite cheaply with a yellow card.

I can't help thinking the person coming in - if there is someone coming in - will be someone we're not expecting and haven't talked about so far... that seems to be Sturrocks MO in the past. And that works for me... the worse we all think he is, the lower the expectation and he only has to be reasonable in order to pleasantly surprise us.

So you are expecting someone unexpected, that you aren't expecting? Or are you expecting the unexpected?

I expect you are right.

I'd be keen for another youth from Watford.

Zola seems more keen on bringing in Italians to help his promotion push - happy to let their youth system be given a chance at the Hall.

If we are indeed bringing someone in from Watford, then it may be Sean Murray. 19 year old attacking midfielder who notched seven goals last season and earned some rave reviews, but has lost his place to Watford's new tranche of Italians and has asked to go on loan. Supposed to be very highly rated, but needs regular football.

Bit useful with the dead ball, too:

Do you not think he will want to play at a higher level than League 2?

I've no idea of his expectations. I'm merely suggesting that if we are indeed taking someone on loan from Watford, then it might be a young player who has recently asked for a loan, and Sean Murray fits that bill. I dare say that our work with Britt has probably endeared us to Watford and their young players, and we'll make a good case for anybody who wants to show what they're capable of.

Someone asked CP about a Sheff Wed player and he replied 'close.'

So would seem its a player from Sheffield.

Maybe we could drag Franco out of retirement too whilst we are at it. I know that you were merely suggesting and I like your reasoning.

our old mate Brian Howard played for Sheff Utd + Barnsley ...... He turns 30 today which immediately brings fear + panic to any professional footballer so as he is still without a club i think it could possibly be a goer !

Talking about a young striker currently playing for a Championship club though.
