Maybe, but the biggest single asset we have is also our Chairman. He owns all the assets including the current ground and he is the only person stopping the £15m debt being called in. If he got hit by a bus tomorrow, we would be in a LOT of trouble.

How much of that £15m debt is actually owed to him or his obfuscation of associated and inter-related companies ?

Neither Ron or British Land were at the exhibition IIRC. Think the club were represented by Kavanagh and Danny Macklin, and I think Powerhaus were there but I remember asking a few questions and not getting much in the way of satisfactory responses.

I meant the open day in the Blues lounge when the new plans were unveiled.

The problem with all the Q&A sessions were, you had too many people asking stupid ****, like, why Johnny Herd wasn't in the team.

Damn right!

Why wasn't he, by the way. Did they say?

Very true. Some of us were waiting to speak to BL with questions like how long will the 4th stand be finished after the move. The couple in front of me asked the most trivial questions like " will there be baby changing facilities in case we have to take our granddaughter when we are babysitting"

A compromise that may suit fans and Ron alike might be that if he gets planning for the FF he could sell then and allow fresh blood to take over and deliver the stadium.

Who would take on the poison chalice at the moment because even a 12 month delay would mean fans on your case with the usual accusations.

Depends on what Ron sells though.
If he sells SUFC, then the new stadium is still in his hands and SUFC will have to pay rent , and the clubs future income may well be compromised
If he sells FF then the owner of FF has no business interest in SUFC whatsoever and the football club may well be compromised , particular in the area around no matchday income and Rent
If he sells FF and SUFC (and presumably RHL and SEL) , them we have to be very very lucky and get a well backed property company with a desire to progress a lower league football team . or we end up with an owner who has no personal interest in football , but has to maintain the business connection to realise the dream of the FF build, as little money as possible may go into the club (see Delancey c1998 for the sort of thing)

If he doesn't sell, then we are subject to either years of scraping around , odd winding up orders and loads of wailing and gnashing when we hit a bad spell , until either the whole thing goes pop or something (either development of FF and stay at RH , or we get a new stadium ) comes along and hopefully clears the debt , then the future will be down to the fans to put as many bums on seats in order to stop the whole debt saga starting all over again

There's also "Sound of Confusion", though.

Very ironically from the album "Behind Closed Doors"!

Who was that consortium looking to take the club over a few years ago? Icelandic/fin or something? When the bills/wages were not being paid?

Blue Knights or something? They sounded like something out of a Dan Brown potboiler and probably about as realistic.

Ok, Am I right in saying Sainsbury's can call in the debts still? About 5 odd M?

RM intimated some while ago that the debt has not yet been written off by Sainsbury, presumably in order to maintain a degree of control over the RH site should they wish to U turn on their U turn.

Whether that means it will have to be paid back were RHL /MD to find someone else to buy the site before Sainsbury pull out officially ........No idea

Sainsbury's have I believe put a 'Legal Charge' on RH or the club last year and therefore have not by that action relinquished their loan.
